and i have lusted after it ever since.

It was sat staring at me from the pages of (apologies) Today's Golfer. Ever since then i have always wanted to own one.

Granted i can imagine that it would not be to everyone's taste. IMO however, it is a real thing of beauty.

I was casually browsing Ebay tonight and i could not believe my eyes when i saw the auction ending in 10 minutes time

Long story short (excluding the rather melodramatic into), i am now the proud owner of a Scotty Cameron "Detour" putter

Honestly

This putter was my "pin up" from back when i first started playing the game.

Cant believe what a geek i am for being so exited!

The Detour is lovely IMO. Yes its a bit scwew wiff, but its a a very clean looking design.

I like it a lot.

having said that I think that Scotty was "bladdered" when he made that.

I've got a See More at the minute that wouldn't win any beauty contests but it is so easy to hit a putt on the line you want.

Well it was bad move for me personally. The shaft is far to long for me.

Still, I will flog it shortly and use the cash to fund my latest buy.

I don't like the 38" counter balanced putters either, 35" inch Odyssey I've got is pretty good though.

My PP uses a TM Daddy Long legs 35" and it feels really nice. Just long enough without being intrusive.

the 38 incher was very close to my gut. Now dont get me wrong the putter shaft was only partially to blame for being in such close proximity.....

but still it just felt all wrong

Not sure about Parnevik, however he is obviously a man of exquisite taste, so i would not be supprised
