8th hole par 3 and shanked my 5 iron. There is a farmer's field on the right with horses and my tee shot hit one right in the forehead with a hell of a clump.

Thankfully it trotted off and started eating grass 30 seconds later but I was so worried it was going to just collapse it was horrible.

The other 3 thought it was a You Tube moment but I felt really bad and couldn't get it together after that.

Hope the bugger is ok.

Did they all gallop off to a far corner of the field when you went to your bag to get a ball for the reload? 😄

Just joshing as I think that I'd have been a bit worried myself to be fair

You feel terrible!

How do you think the horse feels?

But did you shout Fore?;):D

Know how you feel though. I once hit a sheep on the leg, only it struggled to run with it's leg swinging in the breeze - horrible feeling.

Playing with GB72 at Belton Park, thinned a 5 iron drive and it hit a Deer bang on the rump
The ensuing stampede was of Biblical proportions

What can you do?

Horses' heads are mega hard, would be the same as a big flick of your fingers on to your forehead.

Says a lot about you that you felt so bad IMO (in a good way), but don't be worried.

It's not as bad as what I done last summer. Playing Alloa with my dad. Was ready to tee off. My dad was standing left to me 4 or 5 yards away I've shanked my drive hit my bag bounced back hit him in the stomach and he feel to his knees. Was down for a Good 10 minutes while I was on the floor laughing so much. He was left with a golf ball mark on his stomach :-).

Of course you felt bad. You'd just hit a shank. Get yourself booked in for a lesson with your pro pronto and get it sorted. Probably due to decelerating through the ball but get it checked out.

As for the horse, forget about it. By this time next week it will probably be in a beef and onion Findus crispy pancake and I'm sure it will be more miffed about that than you hitting it.

Horses mates probably asked him "why the long face?"
