Been hitting my 4 iron like a dream. So much so it has rendered my hybrid redundant. Therefore i figure why not replace it with a 3 iron. Unfortunately like a lot of sets at the moment (....and for the last 4 years) mine didn't come with an original 3 iron.

I know ebay is my best bet but not having much luck find a 3 iron to match my set.

Does anyone have any other sources where I might be able to get single older clubs?

Cheers

exactly what i am thinking to, i find a long iron easier to hit than a rescue, i dont know how even hitting long irons well from rough. i have even dropped my rescue and carry x2 drivers my 913 for a draw shot which i have set the sure fit to do and my cobra amp for straight and true

You will probably find your current 4 iron has 21 degrees of loft like mine so it's only one degree from a regular 20 degree 3 iron anyway. I hit my 4 iron and hybrid well but the hybrid is great out of the rough and does go a lot further than the iron despite the little difference in loft.

Just about put my hybrid away except for recovery shots out of light rough. From fairway or tee I've gone back to using 3i and 4i as I get a much more satisfying and penetrative flight with them - they also tend to go straight!

I can count on one hand how many times I've hit my 3 iron.

Mizuno MX 23, I might consider selling, but I can't put any pictures up cos I don't know how.

single irons are quite tricky to track down, i have ended up buying a couple from the states over te last couple of years either through ebay or ironfinder.com

3 iron is my fav club in the bag, starts my practice and the club I look at when eyeing up new sets....

@OP, evilbay is probably the best place overall

I went thru the moment.. and ordered a TM Burner 2.0 3-iron all the way from the states. Just could not find one. Bloody cost me over £50 + packaging + customs. After that lost my mojo... so it is sitting in my garage. Havent hit it at all (or nearly new). If interested then I click a pic. Open to a good offer.

I guess there are not many out there using a 'butter knife' these days. Got one in the loft (a Ram Tom Watson Golden Ram Tour Grind). And really getting to enjoy using my 3i.

check the lofts first my 4i is 20 degrees, your 4 iron is 23 degrees, you could get a rocketbladez 4 iron that would be the same as a tour burner 4 iron, pretty easy to hit as well and you can order a single one from your proshop or AG.

I have a 3 iron in the garage, it doesn't give me much more than a 4 iron to be honest so I carry an extra wedge.
if anyone wants it, its an ap2 with an s300 shaft. id be open to offers.
cheers

You often get quoted per club for Ping anyway dont you?
My problem is a loss of confidence with the hybrid. Seem to hit a big hook with it. Even out of the rough I'd rather hit a 5 or 6 iron

love my 3 iron, one of my favourite clubs in the bag. Good for 230yrds off the tee with a flushed shot. IMO theres nothing more rewarding then firing a punched shot into the wind with a 3 iron and sticking it close, real pukka golf shot.
