To watch 20 minutes of the St Mirren v Aberdeen game without flicking over to another channel.

Torture.

Route 1 at its worst.

Shows you a) How bad we were last week & b) How dreadful the game up here truly is.

It was an appalling advert for Scottish football. I, for my sins, am originally from Paisley and therefore forever cursed with supporting St Mirren. It's an incurable disease. Occasional moments of Cup-winningness punctuate an otherwise meaningless existence. Couple that with being a Scotland rugby fan and I am tempted to end it all now.

I have actually watched some great Scottish games this year.
There are some teams in the SPL who are forced to play many youngsters, Hearts, Kilmarnock, Dundee United spring to mind.
Motherwell are also playing some nice football.
OK the standard may not be great but at least the kids are having a go and playing in the right spirit. Mistakes make for exciting games.
Good to hear that my team Hearts are now in the 'black' both points wise and financially. They look like they have found an investor who will eventually turn the club into a fans trust.

With BT Sports and Alba we can also watch some of the lesser teams.
Not just saying this for obvious reasons but their games seem a lot more exciting than the recent ManU v Arsenal 'classic'.

You have listed one EPL game, from a season that has had so much incredible entertainment. There is no comparison between the two, none. The SPFL premiership is on a par with English League 1, apart from the crowds obviously, they're more League 2.

I was just pointing out that despite the massive financial gulf in the two leagues you can still get a pretty dismal game in the EPL as well as the SPFL.

Indeed, as you get the odd duff El Classico. I'm still not buying this great games in the SPFL though, some close high scoring games yes, quality? I'm not convinced, certainty not enough to send the two guys and a dog watching most games into raptures.

Looked like 3 men and two dogs at the Sunderland game though.

By great I meant games that I find exciting to watch and not sleep inducing.
The critics say the Kilmarnock v Dundee United and the Motherwell v Partick games were 'thrillers'.
I do like to see teams/players trying to win a game rather than trying not to lose.
I did quantify the difference in the skills level.

I think you'll find it was Arsenal v united. The reverse fixture was also tedious, granted, but not quite as bad as the former!
