Well I have been close quite a few times but today, 13 months after starting to learn this wonderful game, I scored 98. The front 9 took 48, which was when I started to get a little excited, but tried to keep calm, right up to the 17th which I parred, only needing a par 4 for 50 on the back nine. Tee shot went right but stayed in play 160 yards from the pin, second was a seven iron which landed on the green approx 12 feet from the flag. Third was a straight putt but I played it 2 feet short, then a simple putt in for par 4, and 98.

Just like to say thanks to Bob, I bought a v-easy and practiced all week and it definately helped, as did my lesson with my pro on Friday.

God I love this game!

great stuff Mark, my only regret is waiting until aged 39 to take it up lol

the V-easy is good, unfortunately its not so good now I have a dodgy belly putter but I still use it for chipping and alignment on the range.

hopefully you will repeat it again next week

next target 95 then 90 85 80 and my personal best 74, keep at it as it only gets better. you need to work more with the v easy 2 putts from 12 feet tut tut. lol

Well played. Don't be surprised if you back over the 100 barrier a few times after but keep positive and think about where you lost shots. If you can course manage a little better then 95 should be in reach easily

Sweet, great shooting buddy. I'm hoping to break a hundred this year but I may struggle....(break a hundred on a proper >5000 yard course) I'm still bouncing around 105 to 120........maybe next round ;)

Cheers
Andy

As Homer posted above, you will go over the 100 mark again more then once but don't get disheartened, I am yet to break 90 but looking at my stats I have broken the 100 12 times, just 3 shots more needed to get under the 90.

Congrats Mark,

I'm still chasing the 100... thought I had it on Friday when playing in the beautiful sunshine. 51 for the front 9, solid back nine averaging a bogey a hole accept a blip of hole on the 14th where I decided to have a play in the sandpit found myself on 94 on the 18th tee.

A bogey to break the 100 was all I need... a Drive slightly to the left found the trees and like an idiot instead of just playing out sideways I tried to find the impossible route out... "clunk" as it came back of a tree trunk. Then thought I've got to go for it now as I've wasted my extra shot... "clunk" another tree! Tail between my legs and played out, scuffed and 3 putted for a 9... bloody game!!!!

Thank you guys, it felt like a hole in one, if I had enough money I would have bought everyone in the bar a drink, but as it was my playing buddies and i had a nice celebratory drink. I cant wait for the next round.
