Back home from Eaton Golf Club now. The round started well with a nice par on the first, I then had a double but then another couple of pars so nice 2 under level bogies after 6, had a complete miss on the 7th, hit the ground about 6 inches behind the ball and ended up with a triple bogey, also a double on the ninth so one over after 9 but bang on my handicap.
I had a couple of pars early on in the 2nd nine, but gave them away with a couple of doubles, so stood on the 18th tee I was 1 over bogies.
As my partners had gone very close to a pond down the right of the 18th, I aimed down the left, not too bad a drive but in the rough, no heroics I told myself just try and knock it down the fairway, introducing Mr Shank or whatever you call the shot I made, straight across the fairway into the right hand rough. Never mind it is a par 5, just get it onto the fairway, this I duly did about 120yds from the green. I take a 7 iron and Mr Shanks comes out for an encore, and the ball goes into the deep rough. I hack it out and final reach the green in 6, but then proceed to 3 putt for a ghastly NINE and a net 75, I was absolutely gutted!

So the far the best score in is 72, I am currently in 4th, with 100 out of the 120 players finished, so I do still have a Chance of finishing in the top 10 which would qualify my for the Grand Final. I am now sitting at home constantly updating the scoreboard.

so plenty done worse, you know the mistakes and all considering played alright, dont beat yourself up

have a vino and what will be will be

I have been beating myself up ever since I walked off the 18th, if I qualify for the final I will stop.

Still 4th, 18 still to come in.

Well done Louise.....forget the 9 as you are in good company. wish you well in the finals.

My daughter and her partner won the scratch county foursomes the other day with two 7's and an 8 on their card. Scored 82 and even finished 3rd nett.
Both former internationalists!!!!
Tough course on a rotten day was their defense.

Well all scores are in and I finished joint 4th (6th on CPO) CSS was 76 so with a stableford adjustment for my 9 I reckon I will get a 0.6 cut, so back to 19, Happy Days!

Northampton here I come.
