So.... joined my first club and I am absolutely in love with the concept of unlimited golf. Just wish we moved to the area at the beginning of summer!!

9 holes booked tomorrow morning, followed by a trip to Twickers to watch England, and then another 18 on Monday!!!

Back to work Tuesday but I will be playing every weekend that I can and will be counting down the days until the summer..... decided to get used to the course through the winter, and keep playing with my partner, and then look to get an official handicap next year!

SO EXCITED... let's hope the scores come tumbling down!!!

I’m pretty jealous of you right now!
But have fun, and I hope it’s all it’s cracked up to be
Keep us posted

Welcome to life as a club golfer - you will love it

Next step is to join us at meets - they are brilliant and the best golf society you can find

Well bar Smiffy as he smells of wee and mothballs ( it's what happens when you partner Chris )!

Good luck and enjoy yourself. I moved from England to Scotland and joining the club was one of the best things I did.
As they say, get involved, speak to anyone and everyone and just enjoy yourself.
I was lucky enough to be invited to join a great group of blokes and have played with them since. I've been on council and handicap committee and it's a great way to get to know the club.
All the best :)

Agreed. Once i start knocking it around Nizels low 90s consistently then I will look to get involved!

Wouldn't worry about that, I'm off to Carnastie and Trump next year on the GM meet and if I break 100 on a 'normal' course I'm happy. So as Carnoustie is recognised as the hardest of Open venues, what can possibly go wrong? Can't wait till someone suggests we play off the very back tees, it will be carnage ;)

If you've joined Nizels, may I recommend tracking down a gentleman by the name of David Bright. He's great company, and an okay golfer to boot.

Enjoy.
