Playing yesterday afternoon the girl I was playing with mishit a shot off the fairway, the ball arrowed towards my trolley left 10 yards away about 45 degrees to the right. The ball hit trolley bang on the start button, which resulted in me chasing down the fairway after the trolley.
.
There must be lots of similar stories.

Haha brilliant!

Years ago when playing with some mates one lad sliced a tee shot which flew off about 200 yards towards an adjacent green where there were people putting. When we walked over they told us it was in the hole – One bounce and in!!!

Hit a drive, it hooked in to the car park about 200 yards away.

The car park was full maybe 80 cars...the car it hit? My playing partners

PP last year tried to chip his ball onto the green, my bag was 10 yd left. It went straight into my drinks bottle holder and was just sat there smiling at us. I was in bits he was livid as he thought it was a penalty shot.

A bloke at my old club, a links course, hit a shot OOB and onto the beach it runs alongside. He went to find his ball and discovered it had landed and gone through a sandwich box that was on someone's knees as they were picnicking on the beach. I know the bloke and he is not the sort to embellish a story. Both funny but slightly scary regarding what could have been.

If they ever remade the Eric Sykes classic Rhubard Rhubard this would be a must scene :).

When I was at school, the father of one of my friends had a round in 1 - he shanked his tee shot on the first into the 18th hole. The local rag wrote a story about it.

Had a club fitting at Silvermere last week. There are three large trees down the middle of the range, I managed to hit them (aiming at them) at least 20 times during the fitting. I commented to the fitter that I'd never hit a target so frequently in such a short time frame. Bet the clubs don't play like that when I finally get to try them.

Playing with my brother, who had played golf about 3 times in his life, put his ball down on the tee whilst some workman who were erecting a fence right next to the tee stopped what they were doing to allow him to play his shot. They were using one of those hollow pole drivers used to bang fence posts down into the ground. My brother shanked his tee shot straight at the workmen about 10 yards away, one of which was holding the pole. He instinctively ducked for cover in a hurry letting go of the pole. The ball hit the pole square on as it was falling and rebounded straight back towards my brother, who with reactions that can only be described as neo like, caught the ball and calmly put it back on the tee, and just hit it again.

The workmen and myself fell about laughing as my brother just picked up his bag and quickly walked off down the fairway.

playing at Kilmarnock Barrassie in a club match a couple of years ago. I blocked my tee shot off the 1st tee onto the railway track that runs along the right hand side. one of the guys we were playing against was a +1 handicap and commented as i hit it that he had never seen anyone hit it that far right before.... his face as the ball bounced along the railway sleepers, then back into play was a picture..

its a par 5 and i only had a 7 iron for my 2nd shot... from one of the worst shots I've ever hit... my playeing partner commented to him with a big smile on his face... " i bet you've never seen one do that before either?"

In Michael Green's book The Art of Coarse Golf published in 1968, his friend does the same thing and claims the first ever round in one.

Playing in Florida a couple of years ago, one of my PPs was in a greenside bunker.

He thinned his shot out, the ball hit the flag (not the stick, the actual flag) which wrapped itself arond the ball, the stick bent backwards, then flipped the ball back which landed back in the bunker right at his feet.

I was playing El Parasio(spelling?) In Marbella a few years ago and 4 of my mates were in the group ahead on the next tee. I pull hooked my approach straight into my mates golf bag. No bounces or anything... I proceeded to get up and down after my drop too 😜😂

Playing the North course at La Manga last year on the 3rd which doglegs right by some degree, I blocked my tee shot straight left which had my "friends" in tears as I had been talking about it suiting my fade. One was about to comment when the ball hit the boundary wall and rediverted right in to the middle of the fairway with nothing more than a hybrid to the green left.
Still walked off with a 5!

A few weeks back playing our regular Sunday 4 ball and Big Barry over draws his 2nd to the 14th, ball flies OOB, hits a tree, and comes back onto the green for a 12" gimmie. :whoo:

In a group lesson. Pro was saying the first person to chip into the tyre wins a prize.

I chipped in just as he said tyre with my very first shot

Was playing with my old man at Mid Yorkshire and there is a car park that runs up the left of the first hole for about 100 yards. At the end of the car park there was a BT van with the back doors open and yes, he proceeded to duck hook his tee shot straight into the back and as quick as it went in, four workmen shot out!

160 yd par 3 over water on my local course. Topped my tee shot, traveled low across the lake, about 2/3 way across my ball hit the back of a moorhen and rebounded up in an arc and landed on the bank.

moorhen very unhappy, two pp fell about laughing, got a duckie instead of a birdie etc. Glad I wasn't playing solo as nobody would have believed me.
