Hypothetical matchplay round resulted in a 12 and 10 victory!

How is this possible??

PS: There's no prizes or anything!

You're playing a 36 hole matchplay match as in the final of the world matchplay wentworth event or the Arizona WGC thingy.

You were given a four hole start & proceeded to win all of the front eight holes.

What's to explain?
It was a 36 hole match.
He was dormie 11 and won the next hole to win 12 and 10. Simple.

I thought I posted an answer to this but it doesn't appear to be here!

So here we go!

MY opponent started the round with more than 14 clubs in his bag which carries a penalty of one hole for every hole played up to a maximum of 4 holes in matchplay!

So if I win the first 4 holes aswell! I become 8 up after 4! winning the next 4 results in a 12 and 10 win!

Simple really

Don't agree with your reasoning here. I assume we are talking about Rule 4-4 here ?

I thought it was a maximum of two holes in matchplay ?

It is a maximum of four shots in a strokeplay event is it not ? ;)
