This morning's medal, underway at 8am. Not the best choice of tee times following last night's spicy Chinese.

Opened up with x3 pars through the first three holes and was playing solid. Hit every fairway (except par 3s) going on the front nine, and GIR was very good too. However, once again, my putting deserted me and several 3 putts spoiled an otherwise solid card.

On the back nine, same story! Was driving it like a beast, splitting fairways (the actual fairway I was playing too!) but poor putting held me in check. Finished with a gross 85 (delighted by the way), my best return in a Medal and leading in the clubhouse with net 64. If I ever get this putting together there is a danger I'll look like I know what I'm doing.

Even had my Dunlop t-shirt on today, a la Westwood...

It's an unwritten golf law that your putting only works on the day your driver has a day off and you miss every fairway.

If you drive well AND putt well then you're in PB territory... but that's often the day that your irons decide to play up :p

I feel your pain... Stableford on the PGA @ The Belfry today, had by far the best driving round of the year and hit every fairway but one, The flight was a beautiful draw and they where just flying...

28 points later the end.

Lets just say I even managed to turn a simple straight 6-7 FT birdie putt into a Bogey on the 18th

Yeah I've never had all parts of my game come together at once even on a 78 I posted. I misplace my swing in between holes, I had 2 birdies and an eagle today and still shot a 90 that must be unusual to say the least.

Sometimes even in the same round. My last round I started off shocking off the tee and with irons but was able to get up and down to make bogey, but as soon as my irons were working I stopped being able to get up and down so I was still making bogeys.

Enjoy the fact that a) you go to play today and not trawl around DFS and Furniture Village all day and b) you played so well. Even when we play well there will always be a shot or two left out there. Look at Furyk's 59. That had a bogey in there. Well done though

This is so true - you simply can't have everything working in your game at the same time. It would be considered a form of cheating if you did.
