Won the Cup yesterday beating The Scum,sorry Bamburgh again.The final was held at Wooler GC which is high up on a hillside so you can imagine what the wind was like but my ever dependable men came out well on top by 4-1...superb and what a day we had to celebrate the seasons achievments,3 team cups up for grabs through the season and all 3 are in the clubs trophy cabinet so roll on 2010 for more Goswick dominance ;).

A good seasons work there right enough. Good on you.

What's the team make up age wise dodger ? old heads or young guns or a blend of the two ? Can you keep them together for next season or are changes inevitable ?
 
Yesterday was a 5 man team with ages of 16(hcp Scr),17(1),20(1),38(2) and 42(Scr).Those are our core players in the League also with the 6th man coming from guys around my age bracket and vary from 1 to 2/3 Hcp.Don't see changes next year bar maybe a 14/15 year old stepping into the squad with a 4 hcp. :cool:
 
That's some stength in depth you have there. Many clubs would love to have that at their disposal. Many young gouys either move away to Uni or get lured to the "better" clubs I'm afraid.
 
Actually I forgot we also have a 19 year old that plays for us when he returns from USA scholorship mid May until mid August,he plays off +2 and he played around half the league games of which there is 16 and a couple of the cup games,he has said that he will be playing again next year which is great.

We are also lucky in that we ARE the best club in the area. ;)
 
it's a pity you slinked off early without saying "thanks guys for your support today"... the sloe gin and lemonade i bought you is probably still on the bar...a girlie drink though... great day and nite with the highlight being you asking the piano player in the posh cocktail bar to play "we are the champions"... the guy was not impressed
 
Sloe Gin with ice actually Dano......you should have slinked hame with me as I hear you let your foursomes partner down today in the Final...Oh and I could barely speak when I staggered off so na chance of a thank you! ;)
