How many of us actually use them and at that how many are low handicap players?

I've owned two hybrids since taking the game back up in 2011 and I just can't get on with them at all,I cannot hit them.........I'd say out of 10 shots I will hit maybe 3 or 4 spot on and the rest can be horrific.

Now that I'm coming back to golf I was thinking about maybe using one again but tbh I think I might be better staying well clear.....

My home course is spot on for one though,I'm thinking maybe a 5 wood will work better for me....

i have 2 and play off 17. they are my "go to" clubs, #3 for distance and tee shots when the driver is misbehaving, and the #4 for more height and control.

I will say, when i first bought a hybrid last year it took me a LONG time to be able to use it properly, i kept trying to hit it like a fairway wood and i almost binned it, i reckon it took me upwards of 500 range balls to at least get "ok" with it..

I don't know what I would do without my hybrid.

I'm not a big hitter so my hybrid gets me bout 180. Gets the ball up in the air great as well.

I think the modern hybrids are a lot easier to hit in theory but again I think confidence comes into play. They also are supposed to be better out of the rough, get the ball in the air and are easier to hit than long irons..... you can also use them around the green in theory.... Ive toyed with having a 5 wood etc etc but right ow Im reducing down from 2 hybrids to one and putting the 4 iron back in the bag. Im in the market for a rbz 18/19 degree if anyone has one for sale ;)

I have a hybrid #3 to help me on longer Par 5's. Its a hit or a miss when I hit it. Usually I push it out to the left and it never returns. Some times I just hit my 5 Iron and take the hit for that distance lost.

As said above I have been up to the range a few times trying to master it.

I've got one but I wish I had a 3 iron instead. I carry a 5W too, which is a great club - there's room in the bag for both. The hybrid goes VERY high and I seem to hit it a bit hooky, which isn't a problem with any of my other clubs, though it's clearly user error.

I wouldn't have the hybrid if I could get the right 3 iron.

i use a 3 hybrid to fill the gap between the 3 iron and 3 wood...great out the rough if youve still yards to make up....i'm personally not sure whether i find it any easier to hit then a 3 iron though...

I have a 19* Titleist 910H, play off 16.

Lovely bat, and I'm not a lover of hybrids (a' la' Brendy). I'd have had the 2 iron option however there isn't one offered in the MP63 range.

got an adams super s 15 degree on the way from my mate. it is an absolute weapon. slightly larger head than normal for a hybid. inbetween a hybrid and a wood. so easy and so long.

I also have a 19 degree mizuno mp 650.took a punt on it from ebay as it has an extra stiff shaft. seems to keep the ball on a lower trajectory. the jpx800 used to just balloon up in the air so this has worked out well.

I also have an adams 22 degree. super club, 4 iron replacement although I can hit it further than a 4i or take a bit off if necessary.

I have a Titleist 910h 19* and it gets used once poss twice a round- not sure I really need it except for that 2 iron type shot out of semi rough which they are exceptional for

I have 3 and play off 3.

19,23 and recently put a 27 into play as it is far easier to hit and manipulate than my 5 iron.

Why make the game harder plus the 28 is great for chipping as well!;)

Kind of started a thread on this before, the higher hcp player would do better with a 5 wood according to some people as they don't benefit from lower lofted hybrids, I put in a 21 and hit it as far as the 18 I had previously,my 4i goes just as far though. The 5 wood goes a good bit further.

I use a 20* to fill in between my 5 iron and Driver. I'm a newcomer to the game so no huge distances yet so it is bridging that gap pretty well, 5 iron is around 150 yds, Driver 210 yds (when I strike them properly) and Hybrid is at 180 yds. I have used it occasionally for little dinks around the green and it seems to work quite nicely for that, used like a putter just to lift the ball over a short amount of rough stuff before rolling on towards the hole.

I will let you know when my new clubs arrive. I have never been a big fan of hybrids and always found them clumsy to use. But I have just got a new set of Mizzy irons and the fitter talked me into having the 18* & 21* MP-H4. But to be honest they just look more like a long iron from a beginners set, rather than a hybrid.

They are the updates from the old Mp Fli-Hi range.

I had the 2 and 3 'iron' versions of these previously and they were really, really good.

I may get the 2 'iron' option again actually :mmm:

At present I have an old TM Burner Rescue Hybrid 22 deg, best club in the bag at times

Just purchased the PING G25 5 wood 18 deg and that is better off the Tee longer but can wander off line if I forget my setup

Hybrids must be played like an iron in relation to ball position etc

I have one, a new Titleist 913H, 21*.
I play off 5 and think it's a great club.
I used to have a Taylormade Rescue 19* and thought that was great as well. I only changed as I had a few too many large gaps in my yardages.

I would recommend anyone tries one.

Off 6.

Had a 21° for about 3 years now, and just last week took the 4 iron out of my bag and put a 24° hybrid in.
Just so much easier to use imo, although I don't find them great out of rough like a lot of others do.
