Upgraded my hybrid this afternoon.
Decided on a late afternoon stroll to AG, pay went in yesterday and I feel there was a distance gap between 3iron/previous hybrid and 3 wood that I should be plugging. My thinking was I needed something around 18-20 degree.
So after a general look around, store seemed rather empty of clothing stock must be waiting to end of sale to introduce the summer ranges.
I decide to give the Nike hybrid 2 18* (normal shape not square) a go in the nets. After a couple of warm up pushes it felt comfortable and was giving good readouts on the computer although the stick on the face had taken a battering at the bottom, a few thins I think. Assistant asked if I wanted to give any more a go for comparison, so I asked for another couple around the same spec. He came back with Yonex, G10 and Wilson (not fybrid). I seemed to pull the G10 a bit and lost a bit of distance to the right with the Wilson. The Yonex was the most consistant in direction and distance (a few yards further than the others). All looked good behind the ball and felt good to swing.
I went for the Yonex, signature already updated.
I have a tee time for tomorrow morning so hopefully things will pan out as well on the course as the computer suggested.
