I'm after a new hybrid, something to replace the 3 iron ideally around 19 degrees. I don't want something that looks like a mini wood, any recommendations?

I have a cleveland mashie that I love, they can be picked up very cheaply these days, but then again, it's not the latest technology either.

If you're looking to replace a 3 iron, I'd go with 20.5 degrees.

a 3 iron is usually 21 deg, 19 is closed to a 2 iron.

depends what your 4 iron loft is though i suppose, or what gap you are filling etc

I guess an RBZ 4 iron is probably about 20 degrees. I'd hit 19 degree hybrids and 21 degree hybrids and see what you think - I expect the 21 degree will still go further than a 4 iron (and almost certainly will go more consistently) so might provide you with the club you're after, but I don't know your game at all obviously, so just try some clubs.

I'm not a fan of woods off the deck so more iron like suits my eye, I do like mine but it's very tatty now.yes the 4i is 20 degrees good for 170ish prob a wedge on forum distances.

The Cobra amp cell hybrids are stupid easy to hit, adjustable as well so gapping not an issue .

Ping hybrids are awesome. G25 or I25. Try both and pick the one you like. Great clubs.

I've been trying the Nike Covert 2.0 hybrid and it's awesome. Have only hit the standardm but there's a pro version may be a little better if you don't like large heads (the covert's pretty big), and it's adjustable.

Wasn't overly impressed with the Wilson Staff FG M3 hybrid, but some people have raved about it, and that's small head and adjustable.

I'm waiting to try the G25 hybrid and then I'll decide between it and the Covert 2.0.

Ping g20 is brilliant.Looks more like an oversized iron that a wood, so easy to get in the air as well. The g15 is also very similar and can be got for quite cheap on eBay so defiantly worth a punt.

On saying about the adams mini, i got mixed up, I meant the Pro DHY. check out the size of it here compared with the mini and their standard pro!!

So in your first post, you said you wanted a hybrid that didn't look like a fairway or was too big, it HAS to be this one...

Well ive been and tried a few, this is what I found.
ping g20 short to say the least
cobra nice off a tee but no shakes off the deck
adams all models ok performance but crap feel just hollow
cleveland ok but no better than I have
out of leftfield comes Benross rip speed, very very nice, not massive and looks superb, right what I am after.
Fair to say its in the bag now.

Surprised you didn't hit the G25 or the Cally X hot. Both very forgiving with a nice flight. Benross is a rather under rated brand though and does go under a lot of radars so if it works for you then happy days

Shewy, hit the pro, if you like it shop online for a used idea a12 pro, I've got the 20* and that thing screams. Depending on the spec Chrisd has a couple unused he may part with...
