Morning All,
I've just got back from the range an this was last chance saloon for the M8 Tours I have, I just can not hit them for toffee, though everything else worked like a dream today.

What would you peeps think is best, I know I need to try some and I am looking at Offset rather than normal as it seems I am stuggling with them.

Which Hybrids/Rescues are worth a look at?

Chubb, without sounding patronising, are you sure you hybrid play is correct? Have you used and got on well with others in the past?

Yeah I think its worth it, just instead of getting rid. I was the same when I bought my 3 wood. I just decided in the endI wouldn't use it off the floor and no I nail it off the tee.

I to didn't get on well with hybrids at first because i didn't know how to use them, once I got the technique right (kind of) it was alot easier to use. I think most people tend to play them wrong and struggle with them

Lesson is only 15 quid or so isn't' it? How much would you loose n them getting rid?

I now have a set of Wilson with a 3, 4 hybrid, it took me a range session and one round to get into them and now I rate them very highly, I think it would be the same with other makes, just a little time adjusting, its worth discussing it with your pro though.

First ones I used were the MD Blackhawks a few years back. Dirt cheap but simple to use. Had Callaway Fusion one since and it was ok but now I've got a Ping G10 and its soooo easy. Don't get too low a loft. 18 degrees is hard work - do what I've done and buy a 7 wood instead. Slightly higher loft but a longer shaft to balance it - hits it about the same, maybe a bit further. The 24 degree G10 fills the gap to the irons perfectly.

I agree the hybrids are quite hard work...I struggled with my Nike Slingshot, still not over confident with it but when I do connect boy do they go!!

Titleist 585H is pretty good, I am experimenting with one in 24* at the moment and it goes very well.

Allegedly it is a "better player" hybrid but Im hitting it well on the range, it carries around 180-190 with range balls and has a nice piercing trajectory.

Persevere with the rescue woods Chubb, once you get the knack of them they're fantastic.

Make sure you play them like a mid iron (i.e mid stance) and don't be afraid to take a slight divot. So many people play rescue woods like a 3 wood and get into all sorts of trouble.

I think the Titleist is the hardest hybrid to hit. Just getting the hang of mine. My original TM rescue has been the easiest tbh.

That said, now I am hitting it, the 585 is my 'go to' club.

I have the Cobra DWS and it is an easy hybrid to use and very forgiving. I ditched my 3 iron and never looked back.

Another vote for the baffler here - swapped a Mizzy fli-hi which I couldn't get on with.

If you feel you can't use them I presume you don't currently use them on the course? Is this affecting your progress / holding you back? If you find that you are quite often at a distance where a hybrid would be the right club then look at changing it, if you are managing to get round the course well already don't bother. Also if you do look to replace think about buying just the one and saving space in your bag for a wedge or something, 3 degrees difference in a hybrid doesn't represent a great enough change in distance for it to warrant an extra space in my bag- just hit one a bit harder / softer. Just my opinion!

I would go with eagleunters view. I only carry the one hybrid. I either need 3 iron range, or the lie is such that I need a hybrid to get out. I can't see why I would need more than one. I can always go down the grip a bit.

Me too.....I have just the one (a 3i replacement), and can hit it less without any trouble. The problem I have with it is the full/100% shot....just can't seem to square it enough. I quite often get 10 yard "pulls" with my fairways, but can live with that (or a resulting fade).....what I hate is the 170 yard slice with the hybrid.....

I tried a colleagues hybrids last year and couldn't get to grips with them. Perhaps it was a psychological thing, but I dismissed the idea of swapping a low iron over for a hybrid.
During my recent fitting at Mizuno, I was recommended the MX Fli Hi 3 and 4. I think these will replace the CLK Fli Hi's and should not be confused with the MP Fli Hi's.
I can't hit a bad shot with these things. As Duck Hook Master advised, just swing as if you are hitting a mid iron.

Me three. I bought a Baffler DWS 2R and use it all the time. I only have a driver, no fairway woods, the baffler gets used off the tee and the fairway, love it.

I too have Wilson 3 & 4 Hybrids (like Herb) and they took a little while to get used too but after a playing lesson I feel much more confident with them - reasonable distance (for me) and pretty straight (most of the time!!)

Well a thought has crossed my mind that I might pick up the DWS and the FP 4iron, I think the problem is that these Hybrids are tour ones thats causing me problems.
