Went up to the club this morning on the off chance that the fog may subside and I'll be able to get a round in, fat chance as the fog just got thicker and thicker until you couldn't see more than about 25yds "Course Closed" so I went on the practice ground for a bit of "chip n putt" practice for an hour or two, anyway having had my fill I cleaned all my clubs up, dried em all off, put em away and headed off home only to get about 10 miles down the road and the flamin sun comes out, un-frickin-believable !!!...😡

What can you do? At least you got some meaningful practice in.

Fog would have been lovely, instead we've had 24 hours of solid and heavy rain. It's fair to say the courses needed a good watering but why does it have to happen on medal day? No golf for me and I've been in a sulk all afternoon as a result.

Was the course actually closed. If not why not put the waterproofs on and get out there!

Feel for the OP.

The weather in The UK is totally pants and particularly in instances such as when 2 weeks ago we were in the low 70s and Summer was upon us, to now further into the (allegedly good weather) we're back in the cold and grey cloudy drab 40s and it's flaming Winter again!!

I turned up for my tee time, Homer, nobody else did. This wasn't just a bit of rain though, it was an unrelenting downpour.

That's poor. Could they not have just put you in another group as I'm sure there must have been others going out

Nobody turned up. Not just in my group. But in every group within 30 minutes of me hanging around. It was really really horrible, so I don't blame anyone for not showing.

Move south Jimaroid! Played Saturday and yesterday in breezy but dry conditions - lovely! :D

I played in yesterday's comp and it rained from start to finish! I wish that no one else had turned up then I wouldn't have looked at the weather and thought "it'll clear up soon" - it didn't! There was no chance of scoring in those conditions
