So, into the back half of March and it seems to be drying up.
I appreciate that many won't have started qualifiers yet, although some been playing all through the Winter, but how is your game shaping up? Looking good for the Season or not?

I'm playing, probably, the best I've played at this time of year ever!
Normally I'm scratching around, completely unable to breaking 80 let alone playing to my handicap.
So far this year I've broken 80 more often than not, putting has been superb, birdie conversion is high - in fact the only parts not firing are driving and GIR, although both are beginning to improve. It bodes well for the Season. Just got to play some qualifiers - there's one next Wednesday but the Teachers are going on Strike and half the school is closed - the half that The Boy is in- so I'll be having a day off....

So, how's your game looking...?

Promising much; driving is the best it's ever been, short irons excellent, mid/long iron play improving but still inconsistent, short game and putting rusty but getting there. First serious golf of the year this weekend so we shall see but I'm pretty optimistic.

Was looking very good until today. Been shooting low-mid 80's with a lot of birdie oppotunities. Went out today for 5 holes after work and started hitting massive hooks. Going to blame it on being tired after work.

I'm really excited about this season now I am on the right track short game wise. Played two qualifiers last week, really should have been cut in both but had a buffer and a 0.1 thanks to a frankly embarrassing short game. I went straight into the pro shop after Sunday's round and booked myself some lessons with our asst pro. Early signs are encouraging and I'm sure with a lot of practice my handicap will tumble. Even turning the doubles and trebles into singles will be a big improvement, you simply can't expect to play off of single figures when take 4 or 5 to get down from the edge of the green on 6 holes over two rounds  The rest of my game is shaping up nicely.

Driving is horrendous at the moment and really holding me back. Chipping and putting is keeping me going at the moment.

I'll tell you tomorrow.

I've only played twice properly this year and was ok, all things considered. Hit the ball reasonably well, though there were a few ropey ones to be seen. Short game was poor, though, and will need some TLC before qualifiers start.

Winter work is beginning to pay off and some nice consistency returning. No way does my swing feel robust enough for serious competition though as the changes haven't fully bedded in. When I get it right though, which is more frequent after last week's lesson, it's as good as I've ever hit a golf ball, so just got to start trusting it and putting it to the test!

Never played this well or consistently. Knocking it round in 8-10 over most weekends. Looking forward to the clocks changing so I can get out in the week.

Sounds like I may as well donate to H4H now :o That said I was -1 thru 7 holes and +1 for 9 off the whites in the howling wind earlier ;)

Your game looked very solid last weekend mate, long game looks very tidy, if anything Id be looking to work a bit on the putting, especially as the greens are slowly improving

Playing well, bit false as our course is off forward tees but still really happy with the way I'm playing.

Short game could do with a little more consistency, hopefully I'll be able to get a lesson with my pro to sort it before the season starts.

Distinctly average. Driving in particular has been really poor. Back out tomorrow with a new driver, clearly the answer...

Thanks mate, I'm still shaking my head about the putt on 15.....:o Did make a few good ones though. The greens are not improving they are getting worse, I like slow greens!

I never see anything wrong with you game.... Injury free season and Hawkeye is paying up.

So ye... You might as well pay now. :D

Haha, never expect a putt to be conceded on that green, esp if im losing!!!

As for paying up, we'll give it a month or two ;)

Only as good as your last game and so putting the mighty RickG to the sword would seem to show I'm in fine fettle. I even managed to up and down a few times and make a few decent putts. Of course it'll be back to normal in the roll up especially as feeling like the onset of a cold bug and feeling crap

Prior to injury, it was looking ok. My swing changes were starting to get a bit more comfortable, and my swing speed was up too. 90 with a 6i, 100 odd with a 3w. I quite liked the ball flight, and it was all starting to come together.

Driver? Nightmare.

There's always something?
