I am a big fan of the website but does anyone agree with me when i say that its rather tired and outdated now?

Surely there needs to be a mobile App? Surely (like other competitors) it should show your results from 'Away' competitions?

I only use it to view results, doesn't do anything for me. I use the SGU website for handicap viewing

Horrid site, only use it as its the only place i can get our comp results. Runs awfully most of the time and gives very basic information for what it could offer

I used to be a regular poster on HDID (hence the name) was a very good forum in the early days we started having 2 regular meets a year (2 rounds 1 overnight stay) April & Sept normally, 6 attended the 1st one with 32 attending at its peak, we even managed 9 people going to Portugal for a 5 day meet. Sadly the forum was soon turned into a trolls paradise with no mods in place and no interest from the webmaster to take control. I have met many people through HDID that I consider to be good friends & despite me personally not posting for best part of 2 years we still keep in touch & continue to play annually for 'the sombrero' & 'the slipper' a number of these guys now post on here. Forum aside HDID seems to be a good site for stats etc but as said long overdue an user friendly App.

Agree Fundy one off the most frustrating things with HDID was Sunday night was a no-go with all the results being uploaded....Zzzz

Agree with this. I can't even work out how you're supposed to read the forum. The layout is awful.

Good for stats and results, so long as the results stay there...

We've used HandicapMaster for several years now.Their equivalent is www.masterscoreboard.co.uk.

It does all the basic functionality of a results website. You can see competitions, drill down to results and player scorecards. Individually you get hole by hole scores, eclectics, handicap graph etc. Nothing too fancy but what it does it does well and is very quick and reliable........comes with an excellent mobile version now too. Another big thing in it's favour is that it's part of the service the club pays for and isn't used to generate extra revenue via advertising. HDID reminds me of those "local paper" websites, crammed full of ads and runs like a dog......rubbish but a necessary evil if your club is hooked into the expensive Club 2000 software......very glad we changed tbh.

Mainly use the 'widgets' page on HDID.

I use for checking my results and looking at who in the club scored what (sometimes see an improving player and am intererested in how they fared)

Good for looking a past comps and linked into our club website now so we can click on a comp tehre and it redirects us to the HDID site automatically.

I do like the graph function on handicap movement (only when its heading down!)

The forum and rest of the layout leaves a bit to be desired so I stay away from that.

If I need it on my mobile I just use the full site and zoom in, it works for me but agree that an app would be a helpful addition.

I only use it for checking the results and even then it's slow and not very friendly and usually takes an age to load

I drop into the forum very infrequently just to touch base with a couple of people that only use it so I can still meet up & play with them.

I look at the clubs comp results and check other peoples results at other clubs I'm playing against in Matchplay comps :smirk:

It seems to have improved from a performance point of view in recent times. It used to take ages to load on occasion.
