These are the Trackman stats for one of the Belfry professionals who a good few on here will be familiar with... Chris Ryan.

I'm sure Hovis will be along to tell you more as he knows him better than me.

I'll just sit back and watch ;)

Yep. Impressive numbers - if tweaked a little!

Begs the question - Why is he not out there earning the big bucks?!

Because the game is more than hitting it long - look at Joe Millar

It's all well and good hitting it 360 yards but it's wasted if you can't putt or chip

showing off again Alex

Oh gosh I WISH!!

I got this screen shot after using My Trackman Locator to look for a local Trackman pro. These are the numbers from a guy called Andy Traynor who seems a very accomplished pro from Essex. Pretty cool though!

Seriously impressive hit in the OP. He must have absolutely buttoned it to get those stats at that swing speed. That cannot be easy to do at 127mph!

I can't get the picture to enlarge but I can see a figure of 1.54 which I guess is the smash factor?

Assuming it is then it means either he is using an illegal club or the monitor has been tweaked. I believe under the current rules for COR the maximum possible is 1.49 and that is dependent on a very low launch angle. As the launch angle increases the smash factor drops.

So if that is dodgy, how many of the other numbers are also dodgy?

Why does smash drop as launch goes up? What are the ramifications for the likes of SLDR?

Smash is the relationship between forward ball speed and clubhead speed. I'll try to explain......

Clubhead speed 100mph with launch angle of 0 degrees and smash of 1.50 is 100 x 1.5 = 150 mph

But as loft increases, the FORWARD speed of the ball decreases because some of the speed is converted into upward motion.

So the figures now change slightly. Not sure of the exact formula but the concept is correct.

Hope I've managed to explain myself
