Hi all,

I was at my local range on Saturday afternoon and they have a shiny new Callaway stand with all sorts of new bits on it but my eye was drawn to the Razr Irons as I had not seen them in the flesh yet. I am not sure if there are different Razr irons but these things were clearly the GI or super GI as the sole is wide as a motorway and the face of building. To go with the fugly dimensions are lots of funky fins and graphics like a mid 2000`s F1 car. People give TM a hard time for the look of some of their clubs but these things are outlandish. I always want to like Callaway irons but they are just too funky for me now.

Anyone else had a look at them or a go on them? Be interested in how they play and where they fit with the X22/X24... a replacement? Or do they replace a Diablo that I don’t know about?

Callaway is yet to make anything that isn't ugly
It's mouth washing time again.. My X-Forge are lovely, even when they are being used to duff another ball into the bushes on the right....... The FT9 is ugly though...

just had a callaway custom fit session and razr x tour were the clubs recommended for me - ok they may not be the best looking iron on the market but surely it`s about performance rather than looks- for me anyway !

If I were looking to change my irons then Callaway would be up there with ones to try. May not look as sexy as some irons but what I hear about their performance for someone of my level is pretty good.

I actually like the look of my FT-9.

currently use the xforged and cant see me changing them in the forseeable future, if I did the Razr forged would be at the top of my wanted list (we cant all hit Mizzys well lol)

This was not about the forged, they are still ugly but not post making ugly. Your X forge are lovely looking clubs and hitting them was the catalist to my getting the Mizuno. I am talking about the 1st ones Homer linked, if you saw them in the flesh you would agree.

saw them on Friday Alex, as a complete newb to golf I still thought... 'jeez these look very chunky!!' went through the whole range and just had to put each one quickly back.

as stated above though, its not all about looks and they must perform well or they wouldnt be on sale/in production :)
