I played in a Stableford competition and scored 43 points with 2 blobs. Thought I would get cut (at last) but there were 2 temporary holes so the competion didn't count! At least I won the money for coming first!!;)

Competitions can still be qualifying with 2 temporary greens so there must have been another reason for it not to count

So are you happy winning with such a big score but not getting cut ?

I suspect that the reason it wasn't a competition was because the 2 temporary holes had large holes. Yes I wanted to get cut!
That's your reason, I seem to think if they have one bucket hole then it can't be a qualifier. You can have two temps as long as they have normal size holes.

Think it must be that the course was shortened by more than 100 yards as my place has bigger holes and we've had qualifying comps when we had 2 on them.

As soon as you have a Bucket hole, then comp is not being played under Rules of Golf, so automatically NQ. Overall length can vary from a measured length (either direction) by up to 100 Yards (it used to be also that change of an individual hole by > 10yds also meant NQ!). And I think up to 3 Temps (from memory, so not absolutely certain).

Nice win though!
