Played a few rounds this year. Scoring pretty consistently in the mid 80s around my normal course, which I would say is of average difficulty.

I also play in a work society. I would estimate that on away courses I score at least 4 or 5 shots worse on average.

That strikes me as a bit rubbish. But perhaps that's normal. I suspect it might be that my short game is not the best part of my game, and that on a strange course that is particularly important. The reasoning being that not knowing the layout probably leads to more missed greens than normal, even if striking the ball reasonable well.

How much worse are you ???

Opposite for me, usually score better away from home. I think its because I get a little bored/complacent playing the same course too often and lose a bit of focus, tend to focus better on a different track, especially one that piques my interest :)

I always seem to score better away from home. I just find it easier to pick a spot and hit it rather than knowing every little bit to avoid and a few bad memories etc.

You sound like another one whose mind is good at making this game harder than it needs to be, can be so annoying lol

Yep i get totally mashed playing at home. Every shot seems to be another here we go again moment! Just dont seem to get in the same zone as i do at other courses. It so frustrating sometimes!
