I was just trying to work out based on how many times i was out last year and how much my membership fee was, what the cost was per round. Just wondering whether you feel you were getting good bang for your buck.

From April to September about £50 a round (fees are roughly £600) - from September till now about a tenner a round - this year will be about a fiver a round for my home club + average of about £20 a round for the opens I'll be playing

I played, on average, twice a week last year.

That meant I was paying £2.88/round.

Sometimes I was playing 3 times/week so probably less than that on the whole.

Based on last year, it'll shoot up to £3.17/round :smirk:

Canny beat that

Dare i ask is this a controversial subject or something?

Played a good bit of away golf last year but at home id say it averaged around €10/€12 a round .. not so bad

EDIT ,,, didnt account for the actual comp fees in that .. DOH so roughly €20 id say

Annual green fees were £1,170 played twice/week all through the winter and 3/4/5 times per week during the Summer so I dare say upwards of 150 rounds so that's a "worst" case of £7.80/round not including peripherals so, compared to playing twilight golf at £25/round on Sundays after 3pm I think I did ok!

Each year I am going to play golf every week. At the beginning of the year I evaluate whether I can afford and am happy to pay the fees. If the answer is yes then I pay them and forget about it, if the answer is no then I don't. How much it costs per round is largely irrelevant as joining a golf club isn't just about how often I play, there's more too it than that.

Based on my first month February 's pro rata'd fee of just under 100 quid, and the fact that played 11 times, so 9 quid-odd a round (excluding comp fees), I think I'm getting my money's worth, definitely.

2011- £1250 per round
2012- £2300 per round
2013- £140 per round
2014- £itBetterBeALotLess

Works out about £7.50 per round not including comp fees, 1 round a week over winter, twice in feb-march & oct-nov then 2 or 3 times a week april-sept.

Even if I only played once a week then I'd still be happy paying what I'm paying. Being a member of a club is more than just how much it ends up costing you per round.

This year (2013-2014), excluding comp fees, should have cost £1,450.00

Actual cost for golf was £0.00, cos I was Captain.

Nice.

DD is £60pm so probably looking about £5-6 per round during the summer. About £300 per round during the winter, but only because I had knee surgery and the weather is :sbox:

The PGA National summer rate is around £60-£80 a round for visitors... I'm not sure how many rounds I played but with all of my rounds on the PGA and the Derby + 5 free rounds on the Brabazon I'd say I done very very well indeed
