One of my playing partners runs the mixed team and I agreed to help him out by filling in for a drop out next week. As it is a club match I obviously need a club sweater. As I do not wear sweaters much I thought I would go for the cheapest and most comfy option for me, a basic sleeveless one. The price, £43. Is this normal. I know it has an embroidered badge but £43 for a blue seeveless sweater seemed way over the top. Maybe that is the norm. How much are you charged by your club

Have you asked about discount? As members we get 15% off club-embroidered clothing as standard or 30% if playing for a club team.

This is what should happen IMO if you are representing a club. The club should decide on "club colours" for matches and those who choose to represent the club should get a healthy discount on those club colours.

we get club polo when playing in teams we have three mens 1 woman's and a junior team, different colour for different teams,if you wish to buy a jumper cost around the £45 mark.

Yea its stupid dosh Greg can be anywhere between €55-60 for a jumper and €35-40 for a Polo Shirt , They are good quality & last tho . i

I like being in club colours for Team comps , Captains Day & Presidents Prize aswel, i play a good few interclub matches so i would get value for it ,

On the Irish Craic Classic last year we played at Slieve Russell Country Club and CVG our normal playing partner wears one of their jumpers so I thought I would have a look
So I did and the 75 euro price tag had me putting it back pretty quickly .

Not paying that when I can pick up a half decent unbadged jumper in Marks for £20

if you get picked to represent the club you can buy a team jumper at our place that has "team Member" on £25 which i thought was a bit steep.

Club matches we have to buy all our own shirts and jumpers and sleeveless jumpers - Range from £30 to £55 for Glenmuir jumpers

Not sure about sweaters, but Under Armour polo shirts with the Blackmoor logo are £35, which I didn't think was too bad.

Seems a bit steep....

I've just started playing for the team and getting a Glenmuir polo and short sleeved jumper with club logo etc, £30 for both.

Yes, nearly £50 with sleeves. Would have paid a bit more for a wind shirt with the club crest as I actually wear them but they are not accepted as suitable attire for club matches

We have to buy our own club jumpers, no discount. Think a Glenmuir one is about £55. Can't help feeling this is a pretty big stitch up between the club and the pro. Fortunately I bought my team coloured one ages ago and it's still in good nick but as we sometimes struggle to get players, especially for home games, you'd think there would be some incentive.

That is a fair point. Not as if I am playing for the first team, just helping a mate out as he is short for his mixed match. If I had not already given my word that I would okay I would have been tempted to decline if I knew it would cost me 40 notes for the privelege. My last one at Stoke Rochford cost me £25 and I only ever wore it twice.

At our agm the belfry asked us to buy club sweaters. The problem arose when they were asking £50. I said " buying them isn't the problem but dont ask us to pay £50 when you're selling them next to others without the branding that are £35"

If your only helping out and standing in for someone playing the one match then I wouldn't be going and buying a £40+ jumper for a single game. I'd be telling the club to provide you with it if they insist on you wearing one, after all it's you doing them the favour by playing
