I spent around £650 in the bar according to a statement they printed off for me last year. One of our members spent over £5000 and another over £13,000 !! How much do you spend a year?

Never thought about it. I just go in, buy some drinks and enjoy those bought for me. I eat there once in a while (tad expensive for what it is) and just top up the club card when it needs it

My place is missing a trick though, the sports bar is a shared bar so no real clubhouse as such. The service and food is not great the only way you can get a decent butty is to be in before 12 so you get the breakfast menu however our bacon rolls took over 30 min to cook this week (my god that pig must of been slippery):rant:

personally i will spend approx 2-3 pints of guinness worth each time I play at the weekend, so probably between 500-600 per year

Exactly about a tenner a week I would say is about average for most. If it is 1 man that has spent 13k on himself then he must never be sober enough to play Golf

On a serious note it really wouldn't take that much. To do 13k
If your club is like ours your bar card can be used in the pro shop also, throw a couple of sets of irons, few other clubs and maybe a bag, few items of clothing and lessons and you could easily do 5k
That leaves 7k which is just over 500.00 a month, if your someone who players 3/4 days a week you can chunk into that pretty quickly with breakfast and drinks, throw in a few function nights, the odd day where the family meet you at the club for dinner and you could do that,,..

We can only use the club card on food and drink and so unless they are doing a heck of a lot of corporate schmoozing it's nigh on impossible even for someone with the alcoholic constitution of George Best or Ollie Reed

The impression I got from the Op was that is was bar spend only but may be wrong. If he is using the club for business meetings and then taking2/3 chaps out on the course and then buying them drinks/food afterwards on a fairly regular basis it could be done easily but as Homer said for personal use even Ollie Reed would struggle.

but 13k would buy me approx 3400 pints of guinness, or 10 pints per day (give or take)
would be great for a while but would unlikely to be able to play golf most days through hangover, or be able to afford my annual subs through probably losing my job and/or my driving licence……...
