Having just had a look at my latest copy of GM I was left thinking, how much difference can there be between a set of clubs?
I have ping i20's and was wondering this when looking at the i25's coming out.:one:

Looking intently at the I series as I think many may be aware. I don't see a lot of difference but trying them on a launch monitor on Friday so that will be an interesting comparison. I really think if you have the I20 there isn't much in the I25 to justify the cost

Dunnno but I'm loving my new Pro Combos over my old Burners, they are a whole club less loft wise but I'm getting to grips with my new distances... Most importantly I love looking down on them

there can be a huge difference between clubs, and an even bigger one between shafts.

otoh if you have the right set for you today it's unlikely that a new set from any manufacturer will produce something that will make a significant difference to you - but then again few are currently playing with the absolute optimum club in the first place!

then again, if you start with the premise that the clubs make a significant difference, or your name is Homer, you are beaten before the clubs even come out.....

I've got the i15s and demoed the i20s. They are definitely more forgiving and have slightly more feel however at the moment I can't justify upgrading because although the i20s are a slight improvement they wouldn't be a game changer.

I played in a comp yesterday with a chap that had what can only described as 'a mixed bag' that would have been rejected by many a charity shop.

The bag itself was a reasonably modern (within the last 5 years) Nike stand bag. His Driver and 3 wood were Taylormade Burner Supersteel from 1999. He had a Monarch 5 wood that was just that - made of wood and a collection of irons 2-sw from at least three different manufacturers. His putter looked as though it might at one time have had a hickory shaft but had been 'modernised' with steel.

He played off 7 and scored 35 points (sss 1 above par).

Who needs new stuff?

For me 1 yard.

I tried both while being fitted a few weeks ago and the I25 was 1 yard longer with dispersion virtually identical.

I don't think there is, personally I think if you keep buying new irons your game will go nowhere. You need time to settle and irons last more than a season, even blades !
