wierd isnt it, you hit a crappy drive or approach, it goes in the clag or o/b, reload or provisional, swing with a sense of purpose/anger and nail it

daft game, I assume we all experience this strange phenomenon :D

I mentioned to Fragger the other day that he should just call his first ball his provisional as the 2nd ball always goes well. Not sure how that would stand in the rules though.....

For me its nearly every one!

Usually I notice the swing fault on the first one so the second goes where intended. The first only was bad because an old fault slipped in, once noticed I can then make a confident bash at the second.

Was two under gross for my 3 off the tee balls today ;)

While this is normally what happens.

Yesterday, hit my driver OOB. Reloaded and murdered it. Lo & behold, the provee followed the EXACT trajectory of the first!!! If I were to stand there all day to hit same shots, I would never do it intentionally. When I did not try, the whole thing is reproduced to the tee..

It's probably balanced by how often you hit a stinker and follow it exactly with your provisional - or is that just me? :D

Provisional only ever goes 1 of 3 places...

1. Exactly where the first one went! Consistent but rubbish!
2. Absolutely straight down the middle - frustratingly by far the most common result!
3. As far as possible the other side from the findable first! The dreaded over-correction!

You forgot

4. knobbed off the tee into the clag in front.
5. sh**ked into your mates.
6. heeled into your own ankles.

and I won't mention the air shot!!

I've never done that, I have however clambered out of a bunker while having a really bad day, gone to belt my shoes with my SW and hit myself full on the ankle bone - that stung a bit :)

Yep do this quite regular. Driver goes way right so I load up & aim a bit more to the left, even though I know this will make it worse:confused:

I heeled into my own ankle today, trying to chop out of the rough.. the rebound stuck the ball into a much worse position.
