I 4 putted from less than 12 feet yesterday, oh the shame.

First putt was downhill with some left to right - not as much left to right as I thought.

Second putt was across the slope and approx. 5 feet, missed the hole high.

third putt was from 18 inches, some break but hit firm should be ok. Missed right

Fourth putt was from about 8 inches and I holed it!

Any other horrors?

4 putted about an hour after getting a jumbo grip fitted

1st was about 15ft (& finished 2ft short)
over hit the 2nd to go 2ft past & missed the return for a tap in 4

Thankfully I didn't have the urge to rip the grip off and its turned out to be a good move

Playing in a competition at Bearwood Lakes with Paul Nash a couple of years ago, hit a nice drive up 6 and a cracking wedge in to about 10 feet. Had a slightly downhill right to left putt and the greens were like lightning.
Hit what I thought was the perfectly weighted putt about 2 or 3 inches outside the cup. It held it's line and just kept going and going. Ended up about six feet past. I then dollied my next on up and missed the tiddler that it left. That will be a 6 for nothing then.
How my playing partner laughed.

5 is my record!

Having nearly, but not quite, made the top level (of 3), where the pin was, the ball was at the front of the green. 1st 2 putts failed to make the top level and ended up a yard or so behind where it started! 3rd was never going to do that, so was in 3-putt country on the right level - which I subsequently did!

Renewed my hatred for putting with AD333 Soft Feel with a 4-putt with one on the only hole it was used (it's now in the lake) a couple of weeks ago. First putt only got 2/3rds the way of the 20+ yards I was (the intended cut didn't happen!), then rocketed it past the pin!

I can remember 6 putting when my putting yips were at their worst, five of them less than 4 feet and one only about 6 inches!

I think i 5 putted the first green at Burley. Had never played there before and didnt realise that the greens were grease lightning!

4 is my best / worst including at the weekend playing the manor at castle coombe where I hit a shot par 4 from the tee and then 4-stabbed for bogey.

As it was a social game and I was boasting all the way to the green PP were as quiet and respectful for my situation as you might expect. I think it is called karma!

Golfers in the North East maybe aware of the 8th at Sharpley - home of 4 putt. On more than one occasion I've had a first putt inside 15 feet and a 2nd putt of 40 feet...... perhaps why a 280y par 4 is SI 1!!

From memory I've 5 putted once - but in my defence there were 3 chips in between them.
1st putt lipped out but due to the direction and speed of the greens the ball rolled off the front.
1 chip.
2nd putt lipped out and.........
2nd chip
3rd putt lipped out......
3rd chip.
Pursued the 4th putt coz I sure as hell wasn't going off the green again.
Holed the 5th for plenty..!

I've purged the name of the course from my mind so can't remember where it was..

I have definitely 4 putted but not sure how many times.

I would also think most of my rounds would include at one 3 putt maybe more. Getting better slowly though.

Defo have had a 4 putt , not sure but possibly a 5er..

Couldnt buy a putt last sunday 3 putted 5 times , blaming new putter grip , same size but seems to be very little feel thru it , prob just as its new , it will get a few more trys

i 5 putted the 18th at a place called Hempstead Forest a few years ago in a society day. Greens were like putting on a marble staircase, hole was on a slope. Putted from 15feet away uphill, went 18 inches past. 2nd putt lipped out and ran back down to where i started from . Third putt went 2 feet past the hole. Literally feathered the fourth putt which horse shoed and stayed on the edge of the hole.

Then sat on the patio wit a beer watching every group have exactly the same issues. Bonkers.

I have five putted our 18th, though I did give myself the fifth putt as it was for a stableford blob.:( Pin was in almost the same spot as it will be on Thursday for the forum meet.
