We have a 9 and an 18. I think the current contingent is 6-8.

At my club there is 5 .
I work for a greenkeeping company part time.
A lot of the big maintenance jobs are contracted out now (coring etc.)
So numbers are lower than they had in the past

Interesting! I would’ve thought it’s potentially a very attractive option for the golf club as capital equipment for these jobs is very expensive + labour.

The challenge I’d think is if there are local companies who can take large jobs like this (i.e. have the right equipment How much would they charge for tinning 18 fairways?

It’s £5000 a year for two Coring’s and three solid spikings for 18 greens.
This pro core machine costs £28000 so not really cost effective for twice a year plus spiking.
Never done a fairway mainly greens and tees.

We've 5 for 18 holes .
Greenkeepers are as only good as the leadership they get, we've just got a new Course manager in after previous guy was there for 47 years and the enthusiasm we're now getting from them is chalk and cheese from the old guy . Whole club is buzzing

Procure was one of our best investments 2 years ago , can do all greens in one day hollow coring and great for winter aeration as so much lighter than verti drainer and tractor

Yes it’s an awesome machine.
Hard work though, 32000 steps to do 18 greens.
