Does it take to maintain your golf course(s)? :)

Ours: 2 courses - 16

Are there public numbers for any top courses?

At my club there is 5 .
I work for a greenkeeping company part time.
A lot of the big maintenance jobs are contracted out now (coring etc.)
So numbers are lower than they had in the past

Interesting! I would’ve thought it’s potentially a very attractive option for the golf club as capital equipment for these jobs is very expensive + labour.

The challenge I’d think is if there are local companies who can take large jobs like this (i.e. have the right equipment ;) How much would they charge for tinning 18 fairways?

Top 100 Course, 5 full time, 2 apprentices and a part timer.

It’s £5000 a year for two Coring’s and three solid spikings for 18 greens.
This pro core machine costs £28000 so not really cost effective for twice a year plus spiking.
Never done a fairway mainly greens and tees.

We've 5 for 18 holes .
Greenkeepers are as only good as the leadership they get, we've just got a new Course manager in after previous guy was there for 47 years and the enthusiasm we're now getting from them is chalk and cheese from the old guy . Whole club is buzzing

Procure was one of our best investments 2 years ago , can do all greens in one day hollow coring and great for winter aeration as so much lighter than verti drainer and tractor
