How Many golf shoes do I need?

I currently own 3 pairs of golf shoes.

They are all Footjoy's. Dryjoys, AQL and a pair of Greenjoys that I use in the winter.

Happened to mention to my wife that my local American Golf Store is holding a Footjoy fitting day and I was planning to go along to be properly measured and look at the new spikeless shoes for the summer. Her reply was, why do you need so many shoes. I am sure that there are many golfers with 4 pairs of shoes or more!!

So am I right?

I have 2 pairs one brown and one white, with spikes

Considering a third pair of spikeless if I find some at a good price

Seems like I currently have 5 pairs, arguably for different conditions lol. Puma; white cell fusions (heavier), black tux lux (only black pair and prob the best of the shoes), white faas trak (lightweight), white faas grip (spikeless). Nike; half spikes (very lightweight, use to practise mainly).

If you dont have a pair of spikeless then I would recommend a pair highly

I can't believe HIDs said THAT!!!! Women are renowned for their shoe collection Like my missus got umpteen shoes and handbags

I'd say they will last longer if I spread the wear of them if I have more then one pair.

I think a summer pair and a winter pair is reasonable, maybe a backup pair as well?

Unless you play at Royal Ascot Golf Club of course where you might need 15+ pairs.........................

you have to be kidding?

it doesn't matter what she says, if this is here view she is priceless, one in a million and you should just agree for the rest of your married lives.

you will be both rich and have acres of storage space where others have been impoverished and have to build extensions or move just to accommodate more shoes!

I have 9 pairs - my wife has never questioned why I would need another; ever.

When a new driver was delivered in the post she, who has no interest in golf at all, looked at it and declared I already had 4 of those...........

Adizeros black - for when it's muddy
Nike swing tip spikeless - for when it's hot.

From all your comments, I suddenly don't feel to bad about going out to look for a new spikeless pair tomorrow!!

I have resisted the move to spikeless ones up to now, but having received some birthday monies so will start by looking at the Footjoy contour casual, which seems to be the most popular amongst those I know who have used them.

And like the shop keeper in Mr Benn here I am. Taken receipt of three pairs of myjoys this week still in wrapping waiting to be broken in. A lovely black patent pair, a patent navy and white, and a black and purple outfit. Currently got 19 but three pairs are on their last legs after 6-7 years so they will be going soon, probably after the summer. Have my eyes on a wild pair to take for H4H

Wow! 19 pair of golf shoes! I think this may be the breakthrough argument I need to get the missus to take up golf! lol. I can't say to much though, I was the same with converse (different coloured pair for every top I owned)

Fair play to you, if you can't match your shoes to an outfit with that little lot then your in trouble.
