I ve now been told i have ligament damage to my left shoulder, and to rest for at least 2 weeks . Ive also had an ankle problem since a slip between Christmas and New year, also Ligament damage.

So that two golf related injury's at the same time:(

Anyone else carrying injury this time of year.

Gutted had a game at Monifeith planned on Thursday with Dave Young as i'm in Dundee on Business.

Yep - high hamstring tendonopathy and it made me appreciate just how much the right hamstring is used on the downswing (for a righty). Hurts like stink and causes pelvis to come forward and that's never a good thing.

Mine was caused by Insanity though so perhaps I should have paid more heed to the title of the fitness programme - or stopped being insane when it started to hurt too much!

Hopefully with rest, ice and some physio you'll heal fast.

A bit of Tennis Elbow...

But I only feel it on the course when I pick my ball up with the back of my putter

Unfortunately I seem to be doing that quite frequently......

Had a bad shoulder injury after losing a battle with the garage door when it came off its guide rails. Just as I thought it was over and I was ready to play golf again, I managed to damage it again when shaking out a winter weight duvet.

Physio and lots of gentle exercise needed to get back to full use and motion. Still trying to get back to full strength.

Take care with any shoulder injury, there's a lot that can go wrong in the shoulder.

Y....

Insanity is part of being a Golfer!

Yeah I know..the sweaty one!

Broke Ankle (cleanly, no ligament damage) skidding down a heather bank into a bunker. all i need is Gout in my left toe and I'll have a complete set of knackered/occasional painful joints and tendons in my left leg - mainly from Hockey.

Apart from that and some sore hands, Golf has actually been beneficial injury/health wise.

Sorry to gear that Patrick, hope it's nothing too serious.

I have to manage the nerve and sift tissue damage I got last year in my wrist playing from an unrepaired divot.

I have to manage how much I play and practice. Too much it flares up and I'm out for a week or two. I think I've found the balance to keep me ticking over.

Heal soon pal.

Sorry to hear that it's ligament damage Patrick - get that rest in and I'll see you at St Andrews at the end of March.

Limped to the end of the round today. The left knee which has had a cruciate repair is now swollen and sore, I hope it'll be ok for the weekend

Out injured at the minute with Capsulitis in my right shoulder, bloody sore still and still restricted movement, next step is steroid injection I think.

6 weeks since I swung a club and not looking like it going to be anytime soon before I do

I have a bit of a strain in my right shoulder and upper arm at the moment. Only hurts when I swing a golf club, but playing through it. Have had tennis elbow in my left arm, tendinitis in both wrists, a rib muscle tear and a couple of sprained ankles from playing golf. Obviously a dangerous sport! :)

Currently fighting what was a torn ankle ligament and also regular back, neck and shoulder muscle trouble. Thats pretty good for me over the last 3 years lol (and prior to that had a few knee rebuilds which kept me out of the game for many years)

I'm not sure I've ever had an injury from golf, nothing that stopped me playing anyway. Long may it continue. Hope you recover soon.

A couple of years ago when there was a bit of ice on the course I was walking to the first tee and had to go down a slight incline, as soon as I put my right foot on the slope it went from under me. The foot just kept sliding forward but my left leg seemed to buckle under me as if I was going to kneel on it and my torso went backwards. It all seemed to happen in slow motion and the further the top half of my body went backwards a searing pain shot further down the front of my left thigh. All this with my bag over my right shoulder. Would have made pretty good viewing on You've Been Framed.

Now, 2 years later, I am still receiving fortnightly deep tissue massages on the leg to try to get rid of the scar tissue that is a 2 inch lump.

Currently got a touch of tendonitis in the left elbow I think as a result of hitting too many balls of hard range mats. I also have a pain in my left shoulder which feels like a trapped nerve. Both are making it hard to sleep which isn't helping the situation

No injuries from golf. In fact since I sopped playing tennis no real injuries for about four years, apart from the odd lower back spasm. It is good to be fit and young.;)
