Hello Id love to know how much mixing of brands is in the amateur game and why people find 1 brand of club good to use then cant use the same brand for another club.

For me i use 4 brands right now: Ping, Taylormade, Callaway and Cobra

I use the ping the Driver because for me there's nothing else like it, The best driver i ever used its heavier then most, weighted well not too long amazing sound off the face, I don't see myself changing for a very long time.

Taylormade i use the stage 2 Fairway wood and hybrid, The 3 wood is by far the best for me it goes a mile easy to hit i really don't see myself using another 3 wood,
The hybrid isn't the best of the stage 2 range but after a few range sessions i love it now, High launch goes far enough easy to hit.

Callaway X22s are my 1st proper set of irons after testing many brands these was on top, These had good height and length on each club easier to hit then the others i tried. Ping TM Titliest all good irons but the small differences matter so much, Thats why i guess i use 4 brands

Cobra wedges just recently bought and getting used to them now hitting some really close wedge shots, I'm sure there's tonnes of good wedges but for me it working well. They have dark steel shaft never saw before

What about you?

All Taylor Made clubs

Titliest balls

FJ gloves

Adidas shoes

I have 3 at the moment (did have 4)

Callaway, Titleist and Taylormade

Callaway driver, I have this because it came out the best for me when I went driver shopping last week

TM 5 wood and Hybrid, I have the 5 wood because it's my most confident "go to" club and the hybrid because of some mad notion that I'd have matching woods/hybrids, till I got the callaway driver, now I have my eye on a matching fairway if I can bring myself to replace my R580

Got the 3 wood to "match" although I never take the thing since it don't go much further than the 5 wood but is less useful (I only paid £30 for both clubs so I'm not too upset)

Titleist AP1 irons, because I got a set from a friend when I first started and they were way better than anything I could buy at the time

Callaway wedges because my 56 was on offer at DG last Christmas and I got the 52 from a chap on here so my wedges matched

TM putter because again it's one of the few clubs (like my driver) that I've actually gone to a shop and tested for myself and paid proper money for I liked the feel and how easy it was to line up, it has improved my putting

Its about what Ive tried, and what I like

Titleist 907D1 Driver, because it works, its long
Ping I15 Strong 3-Wood, its easy to hit from tee or deck, get a lovely flight with it
Cobra Baffler Pro 18* See above
Titleist 735CM Irons, I love these, and have no reason to change them
Titleist Vokey Wedges, Confident with them, great spin and stop
TM Daytona Putter, Tried loads, this worked, Ive had it for a long time now

So thats 4 brands

Really should forget about brands as such and just used what's right for my game....but I don't. PING fanboy here and so use their stuff throughout the bag. A PING putter will be on it's way soon too. Tragic really.

Mostly cobra as that's the irons I got 2nd hand so added hybrid and fairways to match
Callaway driver as that's what AG had in their trade in bucket at the time & it was a good price
TM putter because it gives a much truer roll compared to the one I had

Nothing wrong with that, I used to have a totally Titleist setup, even down to the personalised Titleist bag!

I like Ping stuff, except for the irons, the fact they are aesthetically awful in my eyes, means I wont use them

Woods: Mixuno 1W & 3W, Callaway Big Bertha Warbird 5W (3&5W have been in the bag for a Lon log timeandi went to. Miguno for custom fit on the shaft as I liked the look of the Mizuno head)
Hybrid: Titleist (tried a few atthe range wit the pro and this s the nor I hit best)
Irons: 3-PW Mizuno (custom fitted @ Mizuno 7-8 years ago, could maybe do with getting new irons in the next 2-3 years but they will more than likely be Mizuno)
Wedges: Cleveland (just like how they sit behind the ball and hit them better than Vokeys plus they were part of the trade in any wedge deal earlier in the summer which was a bonus)
Putter: Scotty Cameron (got it as a present and really like it, again I think I'd remain brand loyal when it comes to the putter)

Ping Driver
TM 3 wood
Titliest 5 wood
TM hybrid
Titliest irons
Vokey wedges
Odyssey putter

4 different premium balls in the bag at present.

I'm happy with what they do, see little point in changing.

I currently have 2 - Titleist and Mizuno.

Titleist driver - Longer with a better trajectory than my previous drver. Tried a Cally Octane black, Clevelenad XL and a TM RBZ. This gave me the best combination of distance and dispersion. The RBZ was miles longer, but too wayard. The other two made such a horrid noise I couldn't bring myself to buy them.

Tiltleist 4 wood - Used to carry a 3 and 5 wood , but the 910F split the distance perfectly so decided to opt for the 4 wood and free up some space. Again, tried others, but the adjsutability and shaft choices won out in the end.

Titleist 910H - I don't like hybrids. My feeling for them are well known on here. However, I needed a club to bridge the gap between my 3 iron and 4 wood. The 19° 910H did this nicely. All other hybrids seem to sit closed to my eye. 910, in standard setting doesnt, so went for that.

Mizuno irons - Custom fit for these earlier in the year, Lovely sticks that will be around for a good long while yet.

Wedges - See above

Putter - See above also. In the putter fitting it came down to the Scotty and a Rife, chose the more expensive Scotty in the end, simpley becuase I was more consistent with it.

Ball - Titleist Pro V1 or V1x - Currently trialling a Pro V1x to see how it perfroms against the V1 version. Early signs are encouraging so there may be 6 dozen Pro V1's finding their way to the for sale section :D.

Best balls I've tried bar non. They give the best compromise between distance and control. Not the cheapest, but I'm of the mind you get what you pay for.

Tittleist 910 Driver and 3 wood both bought 2nd hand...
Wilsonstaff fybrid because it's easy to hit everywhere and was cheap..

Wilsonstaff FG Tour Irons ..... Players size head minimal cavity forged and enough help where you need it.... Swapped a set of Ping i10's for those 2 years ago and shot my lowest round of a gross 75 with them.... They'll be there for a while yet I think....

Vokey wedges as I bought 2 second hand for 45 euro each and got a 60 degree in a straight swap for an old odyssey 2 ball I had.....

Iv a Cleveland black series half mallet milled putter... Cost was 20 euro...
As you can see I don't buy much new... Although I have 3 new Wilsonstaff FG wedges in the sidelines and my driver might be going to the naughty step soon... We'll see.......

Usually use either Titleist ProV1x or Srixon ZStars in the summer and Wilsonstaff DX2's in the winter....

Ping clubs throughout the bag as I was custom fitted for these. Odyssey #9 putter as it suited my stroke and I love the feel off the milled face. FJ shoes and then mix and match my clothing brands but mainly Adidas, Stromberg or Ping. I play Pro V or Z star balls

I have 6 brands in the bag. Purely for me its cos those clubs were the best i could afford at the time of when i was looking to buy. If i had waited to get all the same brand I porbs wouldn't have half the stuff in my bag. It would be nice to have a full matching bag but i don't see its important. Most likely when i look to upgrade in the future I'll go matching woods/hybrids and then whatever irons or putter.

As per my Signature:

Titleist 913D2 Driver and 913H 19 degree hybrid (was fitted for both and they were the best for me)
Taylormade R11 3 and 5 Metal (Because when I can hit both a long way)
Cleveland CG16 irons 5 to 9 (Fitted for them and tey were the best I tried)
Cleveland RTX 588 Wedges 46, 50, 56 and 62 degrees (Fitted for them and they are just brilliant)
Taylormade Whte Smoke Putter (Dunno really, will look for a new putter in the new year if santa doesn't bring me one)

Puma Shoes
Ping Clothes (Trousers, Jumpers and polos)
Other Polos are anymake as long as they are Green

At the moment I'm up to four with an Adams Driver, Titleist fairways, Mizuno irons and wedges and a Yes! putter, but given how well the Adams driver is going there may be some matching fairway woods on the horizon!

I have 5 brands;

Callaway driver, 4 wood and hybrid
Cleveland irons
Titleist Wedges 52 & 60 degree (will probably sell the 60 though, dont use it)
Tommy Armour 56 degree (purchased in Chicago on my 1 month road trip and have hit a ball in 18 states, including one into the Grand Canyon). Its a great reminder of an awesome time
Odyssey putter

The irons were courtesy of GM and Cleveland and I must admit I really like them.

Normally 3 as per sig, Mainly Mizzy but with WS wedges (a throw back to having an all WS bag at one stage) and a Ping putter.

Occasionally 4 if I chuck the old TM Burner driver in the bag.

Clubs

TM irons
Titleist and TM hybrid
Callaway and TM 3/4 wood
Ping and TM Driver
Seemore and Nike putter
Titleist balls
