How many competitions per month??

How many competitions do you have at your club per month off the medal tees??
Currently we have the usual saturday comps and 2 wednesday medals per month.
I wanted more wednesday medals at my club as its my only chance at playing to improve my handicap. However the fixture list for next year has been sorted and it is now 1 wednesday medal per month!!!!!

I cant play on saturday due to wife working and 2 young girls.
By the time i finish work on a wednesday i can tee off for 5 oclock.

So next season with the time i get to play on a wednesday and fighting the sunset i may get 5 wednesday medals in, and the odd saturday if i can sort childcare.
We dont do supplementry cards either.

Any other courses like this????

Well your course had to provide you with the ability to submit supplementary cards for a start

We have around 4 on average comps a month

During the season we have a medal comp every Tuesday Friday and Saturday.

We can also submit up to 10 Sup/cards.

I think we have 2 sat medals, 2 wednesday bogey and 2 sunday stablefords per month from April to mid Oct. Also about 10 silver trophies that are also on Sat. Then the county championships and 2 low handicap comps off the blue.

Do you play at Greenock Golf club? That's where I grew up and spent endless hours as a kid knocking it round the 'wee' course - happy days.

Usually weekend and midweek medals and stableford March -October and monthly stableford over the winter. Usually at least one/two additional weekend comps per month in the main season

During the qualifying months April to end of October. At least one medal, stableford, mixed comp every weekend plus two comps every week on a tues and Thursday.
one week 9 and 18 hole stableford, following week 9 hole stableford and 18 hole medal.
works really really well.

April-October we have one every saturday, every wednesday and one sunday per month, all qualifiers off the whites.

During the winter it's the same schedule, but off the yellows, with a monthly qualifier on saturday, wednesday and sunday.

Hi Ian. I stay 2 minutes from greenock golf club however i dont play there. I am down at Skelmorlie. I was a junior there and have found it hard to leave.

Greenock is a nice layout just too boggy at times for me to justify near £800 per year

Not enough in my opinion. Apart from champ qualifiers and a couple other things like pro day, we basically have a monthly medal, including over the winter.

we have some Thursday comps over the summer and thankfully they are including a few extra of these next year.

Personally, I would like to see a weekly optional stableford comp that you could just book a normal time and play in.

We have accomplished off the medal tees every Saturday March to October, as well as occasional Sunday comps, and one white tee medal on a Wednesday and yellow tee comps every other Wednesday and two comps off the blue tees twice a year.
So lots of opportunities to get scores in.
