How many balls do you take on a round?

There's a post in the reviews section where someone says they take 15 balls on a round of golf with them...

That sounds a crazy amount to me.

When i'm carrying i take 4 or 5 and maybe only a couple more when my trolley is lugging my stuff for me.

I know if it's on an electric trolley that it's not as much an issue, but surely even pulling then all the weight of the small things starts to add up to a hefty figure.

I normally put a brand new dozen in my bag and they could last 4-6 weeks or less, depends how the drivers behaving If I'm out for a few holes during the week I'll take about 4 but when I'm playing full 18 and have my tour bag i'll stick a dozen in

Somewhere around 10 new balls in the bag with 3 or 4 'B grade' used ones for any provisionals.

I keep meaning to have a clear out of the one's that I've found. However I carry about a dozen that I will use if I have to.

That was me! It was just the number that I'd happened to accumulate in my bag. It goes up and down depending on how many I've lost/found.

I've also been experimenting with various balls to try and settle on one. Without success!

I do like to carry a fair few though.

usually 5 or 6 (3 or 4 good prov1's and a couple of used ones for provisionals), rarely lose a ball though saying that now, Im bringing a dozen to the GM weekend.

In my large carry bag, I take about 40 - 50 because im not really bothered about the weight. However, my pencil bag that I use in the summer has a minimum of 6 in. Gotta be prepared

Less than 10. I normally drop a tube/sleeve (3) in the ball pocket and take out 3 old 'uns for the shag.
If I'm really organised, I'll mark up 3 new ones and draw a black line as well for putting.
I played today and marked up three new balls. I couldn't find them when I got to the course....got home, found them on the kitchen table...I'd left them at home all along.

No wonder I played so badly....

Too many. I never lose them. Don't hit far enough.
So there is a large number of faintly scuffed balls in my bag.
I think I will have a clear out this weekend.

I tend to take about 12-15. I know even on my worse ever day I'd never lose more than maybe 4 in a round but I just like to be covered. They vary between brand new ones, some I use just for roll ups and some that were new last time and so good to start with

I definitely carry too many, but I also regularly seem to end up loaning balls to people who clearly carry too few.

I say loaning, what I actually mean is watching someone smack another one of my balls into the woods, never to be seen again.

I like to make sure I always take a supply of stinkers now, so borrowing becomes a pretty unattractive option.

Maybe I'm just a tight b*****d.

i have no idea. i always mean to empty out the duffers i find as they are always the ones i pick out on the first tee.

Strange that this question should pop up as I was only wondering this last weekend.

Too many is the short answer, but at least the GoKart is lugging them and not me. TBH, over the winter I've been using any old garbage from the practice bag. In reality though four would be enough, but I just don't feel comfortable with that few in the bag.
