How many 3 points holes would you expect or be looking to get in a Stableford game.

I played with a 28 handicapper on Sunday and he had 7 in his morning round and 6 in the afternoon.
We were having a little laugh and discussion about it walking down the 16th fairway and I mentioned that I had never scored a card with as many 3 pointers as I had so far,so he went and got 4 points on a 175 yard par 3 where he had 2 shots.

He only had 38 and 31 so had a lot of blobs and 1 pointers also.

Fragger gets plenty of 3 pointers - normally equals the number of 1 pointers he gets......plus a few blobs😚👍

If I had 2-4, I would say I have had a good round

you never marked Fish's card then,

Most I have had is 8 when I went round 3 under - 8 3's and ten 2's for 44 points

Played an open at our place couple weeks back and had 10 3 pointers in my 41 points, and 6 with two 4 points the comp before in my 42 points :o
Didn't place with 42 but won with 41! Playing off the greens that was though in still conditions.
Back to white tees now though so average around 4 per round.

Not really something I think about. Trying to keep the gross score as low as possible is the aim.

Mind you, I do smile a little more when I make the odd 4 point birdie. Rarity these days.

My best is 2x 4 pointers and 8x 3 pointers in a 43 for a winning score.
I usually manage about 4-5 3 pointers but 4 pointers are rare. Only once managed a 5 pointer. I know a guy who got a 6 pointer by holeing his 2nd on a 350 yd par4.

Yes because he expects it and he is a bloody good partner to have:D

Worth quickly popping in to say, thank you kind sir

I only had 7 x 3-pointers and 1 x 1-pointer on Saturday in our 1st stroke-play comp off the back stones in what was very testing weather conditions for the first 8 holes in pouring rain, if not for a silly 8 on the 11th due to a snap hook into the river, I was only 3 over gross on the back  :o

I average between 1 and 2 birdies a round, and would probably expect to par 2 or 3 of my shot holes, so anywhere from 3-5 3 pointers per round at a guess. I've no idea what my best is in reality.

I'm a good "steady Eddie" to partner an up and down type of card. :)

I think the lower players, who have reached something of a plateau will mostly be getting 2 pointers, with the odd 1 & 3 pointers.
Those who are slightly higher, and/or on the way down will be more 1 & 3 pointers.
