How long recovery can one......

expect after an key hole op in the knee, before one can play golf again?

I have to use crutchs for 6 weeks

ACL? It depends on you really and when I say you I mean your body's ability to recover - rest and eat well real food not sweets/crisps etc go to a physio and then see how things are.

well, doc gave me sickleave for 6 weeks also-- so a lot of rest will it be-- ihave also get an program to keep strenght after op and then a physio will start my rehab on thursday...

I played after 3 months following ACL surgery, but then I also played 9 holes, 3 weeks after my first hip replacement

The only answer is " However long your specialist advises"

What's standard, has happened to others etc is completely irrelevant and frankly dangerous.

What will help is religiously doing the post operative physio exercises exactly as set out. Tell your physio you are anxious to start golf as soon as possible, and she should be able to tune your exercises to that end - she will know exactly how much you are, or are not doing when assessing at the next visit. If more will help she will say so. Generally they expect people not to do any of them after a short period of lip service - it's a sad reality that people don't see small reps of small exercises as likely to make any real difference to their lives...

ACL? Or were they tidying up cartilage ? Can talk to the cartilage .....about 3/4 weeks I reckon but just take it easy.

Yeah to that and what Homer says, I had keyhole on my knee years ago and the muscle wastage on my thigh was just unbelievable. What has not been mentioned is which knee it is. One twists a a bit more than the other and has more load. Although looking at my swing that last sentance is rubbish. Take short cuts in your Physio to your peril. At guy at work listened to his pal, he now plays golf golf with his own personal " madge " buggy.
Good luck me man.

to answer some questions..its the right knee and there was some minor damages at the and outer niscus and there was a third area, where it was cartilage on the tight bone/femur and also did cleaning.

i also think the rehab is very important and i was recommended to do some excersies the day after op, which i of course do.

anyway thanks for your advices and i aiming to be play at the end of july and in sep we will go to saunton.
