So I've got to have a toenail removed. Anyone else had it done? Any idea how long I'll be out of action in terms of golf?

Big toe a couple of days, all others get a plaster on it and get out there.

If its an ingrowing big toe should only be out a couple of days if its infected or swollen could take longer. I had a toenail off (not big)and was ok straight away. You will know your self once the local wears off.

Cheers all - yeah it's a the biggy on my left foot (right handed). Guessing I'll have to go easy on it for a bit. In the long run will be better than currently though. It canes at the moment with my golf shoes on.

Lost one of mine a few years ago. It got hit by a Yorker in a friendly game of cricket. Nail didn't come off straight away but after a few days due to the pressure from the swollen toe.
After that just some padding to protect where the nail was missing and got on with life.
Umpire said I was LBW but nobody appealed due to the fact they were all falling about laughing, so got a few more runs with the help of a runner

Nail is gone. Apparently I have very big toes. Had to have an extra dose of anaesthetic to get it numb.

Absolutely hating not being able to play. Toe is definitely getting better but no way I could play. It's bloomin sore from the phenol induced chemical burn. It's leaking pus everywhere and the dressings are enormous. Boo.
