Looking to replace the 3w, 5w in my bag and I see Online Golf are selling the Taylormade Burner Superfast 2.0 off for relatively cheap, and which I'm interested in.

However, I'm confused a little by one line of their description which reads: 'Longer Shaft And Lighter Clubhead For Immense Swing Speeds '

Does this mean the shaft is longer than a stock fairway wood, or is it just a descriptive term used? My local American Golf doesn't have this club in-store, so I cant' go look and have a hit, so if I went for it I'd likely be mail-ordering and hoping for the best but don't want to take the chance if I can't wield it properly being a bit of a short-arse.

it's not vastly different to the Burner 09 or RBZ (or Callaway X Hot 2 etc etc)

I traded mine for an RBZ TP Tour so I can't put it side by side with the other 2 now, but it didn't feel any different to me. They are all on the long side though.

but you can't get away from the fact that it is one of the longer 3w out there in both shaft length and distance!

They are decent woods as well - had at 3W with the superfast and it was a good club

I have used all of the 2.0 range and for the price you will not be disappointed.
They do have slightly longer shafts then other brands but generally all taylormade clubs are like that anyway slightly longer the standard. But now even other brands have started to do the same too.

In short you wont go wrong with them,

My mate has the 3 wood and he can hit it miles. But as many other people have mentioned TM do like a long shaft so to speak. By coincidence I was looking at some clubs I had last night and the shaft on my TM RBZ2 4 hybrid was about an inch longer than it is on my Wilson fybrid 5 wood.

I know Crossfield has expressed concern with the new TM JetSpeed driver in that the shaft is very long, and therefore for a lot of amateurs it then becomes more difficult to control and hit it on the sweet spot. Which you need to do to get all the supposed distance out of them.

So I'd say if you are a half decent player and can mostly hit the middle of the club then go for it. But if you struggle and you hit off the heel, toe, bottom of the club as much as you do the sweet spot then having a longer shaft won't really help.

I have the 3 and 4 rescue in Burner 2.0. Both excellent clubs, easy to hit from anywhere really. They go long and high.

I have the 5w, my Dad plays the 5w and 3w, regular PP has the 3w & hybrid. They are 1/4 inch longer than "standard" I believe, or so the pro in American Golf told me when I bought my 5w a year or so ago.

They are very long (distance-wise), I find them nice to hit, I have borrowed the 3w on occasions and it's very nice to swing!
