5 weeks ago I had a bit of a hybrid crisis was struggling with my 22 deg Cleveland mashie so on a whim tried a nike covert in a local store and hit it well and bought it.

Since then I have continued to use the Nike and on occasions the Cleveland but have no consistency, where as driver and irons I am quite consistent with is it time to bite the bullet and get rid of them is 5 weeks playing at least once a week and 6 visits to the range enough or should I persevere ?

If I get rid I have a gap between my 3 wood and 5 iron so need something easy to hit (I play off 14) what would people recommend make, deg etc have tried lots in store hence reason I have these 2 and a Cleveland 5 wood which I cant hit

Boring - I know, but drop £20 on a lesson - the Pro may well save you buying another one with a tiny tweak...

Usually with new stuff you concentrate a little more because you like the look of it and your looking for an excuse to get it in the bag. So just have a lesson or pay your old stuff the same attention and see what happens.

I'd say if you get a new club and it gives a consistent bad shot. It may well not be suited to you.
I recently parted with a G25 3 wood. Just couldn't get any height, it wasnt a case of bad swings but the club not suiting me. Changed to a i20 5 wood and couldn't be happier.

I had the exact same problem as yourself. Had my mashie a while but always start to hook them after a while but no other clubs. Tried the g25, g20, adams a12 os, rbz hybrids all without success. Put a cobra amp cell in the bag two weeks ago and its been brilliant. Im also getting a g25 5 wood as i have no issues hitting 3 woods from the fairway and i generally seem to struggle with hybrids.

Never, i learn to hit the thing.. simple.

you are just kidding yourself buying new clubs and chopping and changing.

as has been said on many a post before, and i imagine the club would say if it could talk would be;

Its not me its you;)

I have stuck with mine, the greens were terrible last year. So many members have left but I will stick it out until they close. I am placing time benefits over course quality.

I had a rbz stage 2 hybrid just hated it hook machine swing was ok had pro watching me hit it, ended up going to a 5 wood and straight no problem even nice out of semi rough, i just do not like hybrids

Give up on a club? Why?

I went through a mini-crisis about 6 months ago when I suddenly became unable to hit my 3 and 4 iron.

Worked through it (... With the help of my pro) and they're going better than ever.

Funnily enough, at the same time, my 19° hybrid 'stopped working'. Quick ball position change, hey presto, works again.

When you go, what are you doing?

Are you changing ball position, stance width, checkig alignment etc or are you just hitting balls?

We you fitted for the club or was it purchased off the shelf?

Someone said above, spending £20 on a visit to a pro is probably the best money you'll spend.

It's rarely the clubs fault.

At this point in my golfing journey I would say it's not the club - it's me and my swing - so I'd be persevering with it or at least trying to get an assessment of why my shots aren't doing what I've thought I've set up to make them do. However, as you say that you have no consistency, would it be right to say that on occasion you get the shot you want? As a stubborn fool I'd be asking myself why I'm not getting the same shot from the same club with the same ball position (ie the range) - something must change for the shot to be different. I had this with my hybrid and it was pointed out that my swingpath was inconsistent - sometimes flat, sometimes steep - when I realised that a steeper path actually give me better results a few further tweaks has resulted in it being a favored club.
