So having finally joined a club, and the. Decided I really should partake in some comps now both kids at school.

Ive completed three cards, paid my dues and am waiting.

The question is, how long should I Wait?

Am I being impatient or is 10 days longer than you'd expect a club secretary to take to arrange your handicap?

Mine took 3 days from finishing my third round. Friday to Monday.

i would ask them if there is a problem as you
want to get involved in some comps requiring a handicap.

I did think so too.

I hadn't it in on a Thursday.
Thought the Monday may be pushing it with weekend.
Will give em a chase Monday.

They do seem to have a few technical issues. Can book rounds online, but only for mysoef and others, nobody can select me to join them (world telling me something). And only show as a member at one club, yet it's a dual membership for two clubs.

Put my three cards in 8.00am Monday morning. By 11.00am secretary had e mailed me handicap. I was on the system by 5.00pm.

No give him a nudge.

I put my 3rd card in after last Sunday's roll up. The captain told me it would be sorted when he and the handicap secretary were next at the club (on Tuesday) and I got the e-mail confirming it on Friday.

Know how you feel.....easy to be impatient - felt like waiting for exam results (although thats a long time ago for me!)

about a month. As there were no comps being played the HS didn't go near the box over the winter. I had to ask and the club sec finished it off and gave me my handicap

I normally have the new HC sorted and on the system with 24 hours of the last card being submitted

With all the systems we have now there is no excuse for it taking any longer than a couple of days maybe 7 at the very most

Definitely give him a nudge!
There might be a problem and it would be better to know sooner than later.

I joined there last year (not a member any more although, I am tempted by the Boughton Ballers thing), took about 2 days, I don't remember getting a mail but it just appeared on HDID one day.

Gladi contacted them. Apparently the fee is now £30 not £25. Even though email from club pro and receptionist stated £25. Would have been nice for them to have contacted me, but money paid and hopefully processed shortly.

Oh that's good news then, it's easily sorted!
And even so - their error - bet you they don't tell the the staff the fee's gone up!

It's bizarre - I had a similar thing when my wife was trying to get a handicap
There were issues and they made no attempt to tell us.
All that effort on our part and then just being brushed aside.
Manners... courtesy?

Lady Captain got an earful from me over it... I said the lack of "care & understanding" has put my wife off the ladies section.
And that's exactly what's happened.
She's still never played a ladies only comp.!!
