This is the reply i've just sent to an online retailer who have eventually refunded my money 1 week later... should it really be this hard?

I called first to make sure they were in stock, i was told they were. I then get told 3 days later that they're not in stock but will be coming in the next delivery. I then get told that they're not in that delivery but might or might not be in the next one. I cancel because i need the shoes for the weekend. I'm assured the money will be put back on my card. I then get another call the next day to say you had the shoes all along. I turn the offer down as i have already ordered a different pair of shoes elsewhere. Then today i get your call, again telling me you have the shoes in stock and that it'll take 3 or 4 days to receive the refund. And then now i get this email telling me that the order has eventually been cancelled and i'll get the refund today, which implies to me that the refund was not issued 2 days ago as i had been told.

mail delivery/internet is great but nothing beats going to a shop and walking out with the goods.

hope it works out

not half... there's more to this story, but i'll wait until after the weekend when i have the shoes that i'll fill you in!!!

I'll recommend one retailer and not the other!

Had to get my new shoes through the Pro shop as its alomost impossible to get 8 wide fit online for a sensible price. Luckily I've got loads of vouchers so they won't end up costing more thatn a few quid!!

Hi,
Easy just went in the Pro shop Tuesday ordered A pair Of FootJoy Sports, arrived yesterday and cheaper than anywhere on line,You just cant beat personal service. :)

Know how you feel mate pre ordered a pair in November and paid half upfront was told February then march now April when the Masters starts a bit hacked off about it now

I can't really understand anyone buying shoes online.

I'm sure a local pro won't take that much more than internet prices.

Plus you won't have as much hassle if they leak and need exchanging.

I agree with your comment on price and if there are problems but, if you are trying to buy anything bigger than size 12 you need the internet because petrol is very expensive.
The pro at my club spoke to a Footjoy rep a few years ago for me but even he could not supply bigger than size 12. I then bought on the net from a supplier in Cambridge (Footjoy are also in Cambridge). He provided me with some size 14 and 15 to see which was best and return the ones I did not want. Good service or what.

He does not seem to be on the net now so I am searching constantly for shoes. Footjoy of course.

Got to be honest, I have purchased my last two pairs of AQL's online and have had no problems whatsoever. Superb delivery and great prices...at least £20.00 cheaper than my pro. On a £500.00 set of clubs, £20.00 isn't enough to worry about, but on a £55.00 pair of shoes it makes them nearly half price.... ;) ;) ;)

One of the beauties of FJ shoes is that you know they are going to fit straight out of the box.
I bought a pair of Nikes online last year because of the price. They seemed a bargain. Hated the bloody things. Hurt like hell and I sold 'em to a mate of mine. Luckily I didn't lose too much money 'cos I got them so cheap in the first place.
FJ's are the ONLY shoes I would ever buy without trying them on first.

The perils of internet shopping some would say....go to your Pro is the only way - most would probably price match or get very close, and if they haven't got them would be abe to order them and have them available in a day or 2....

Price, whilst is important, is sometimes outwayed by service and be able to solve potential problems cheaply and easily....

New shoes have arrived.

I'll be glad to recommend golfshoesdirect.co.uk for the way they handled my order. They didn't have in stock what i ordered (nike air tw 2009) but let me know asap. They gave me this years model for the same price as last years reduced price and that includes next day UPS delivery!!! If that's the price for good customer service then all credit to them and i'll be sure to use them again. They have an ebay store as well.

I'll not be recommending golfstoreeurope.com. They're communication between shop, warehouse and myself as a paying customer is amongst the worst i have experienced. I still don't have my money back from them either so, unless it's in my account when i check later today, it'll be yet another phone call!!! They've had my money for 9.5 days now, delivered nothing... they never even offered an alternative!
