I love my irons(i10s and Tour W wedges). But they are getting a bit worn. I could afford new bats, but's that's not really what I want.

Does anybody have any experience of getting their irons tumbled?

I think it's what Ping do to their irons during manufacture and can re-tumble them to remove blemishes etc? Have considered it to remove evidence of episodes of toe strikes!

Question: Can Ping refinish my irons? What does this entail?
Answer: Yes, we can re-tumble the iron heads. This service is not available on any irons made of copper or nickel (BeCu, BeNi). This service does include buffing the sole and leading edge (we do not want to grind too much to remove too much weight), sandblasting the head and then putting the heads in the tumbler (we tape the shaft to protect it). When they come out, they have the non-glare tumbled finish. We repaint the heads and then put on new shaft labels if available. I am sorry, but we do not re-groove any iron. The reason we do not re-groove is that you would have to grind the face to be perfectly flat (if the grooves are worn down, there is usually a dip in the center of the face) and then re-groove them. With the amount of material that would be removed, they would be lighter and they would never feel/play the same due to the thinner face. The cost for this service is $17.75 per club plus $14 for the return shipping (plus your local tax if applicable). Most repairs are in house 5 to 10 business days or less plus shipping time.

Edit - Perhaps contact Ping Gainsborough to see if they do it?.
