Gents,

I have noticed that a lot of the NW "section" of the forum is around Manchester/Liverpool/Preston. Is there anybody on here who lives a little closer to me? Any fellow wooly-backs from Cumbria? It seems I'm a little caught between the majority of the NW guys and the Scots lads to the North...... :(
(Cue the violins and the tears) :D

Near Barrow-in-Furness. Preston isn't that far, about 1hr 20, just havn't noticed any other "marras" on here!!

On the note of the lads north of the border, I fancy a trip up to Silloth on Solway some time this summer, if anybody from up there fancies a quick hop over the border I'll be quite happy to drive up and meet them, I've never played it but it is supposed to be a wonderful course on a nice day, I belive it is a qualifier for the open.

Was until we replaced them as the qualifier!! :D
I and IM02 are going to Silloth for a 4ball better ball open in July......£12.50 per man it cost and I'm really looking forward to it.The day before we are playing another 4BBB open at Carlisle GC for £15 per man and we have all been drawn together...happy days!

Do you ply at Furness GC 007,played there a few years back, not a bad track.
I live in chorley, lanc's. and certainly don't mind the hour and a half trip to silloth. Pick agood day and golf does'nt get much better.

No, but I'm only 10 minutes away. I play at www.ulverstongolf.co.uk, best course round here, mature parklands and venue for quite a few county games. Ulverston is about 10 mins before Barrow-in-Furness if you come along the A590 from the M6.

Querty your very close to me,im in Clayton Le Woods.
Where do you play?

Hi Alchemy, I only moved to Chorley last year so ive put off joining a club until this year.
Ive had an interview at Pleasington, and should hopefully be in within the next 2 weeks.
Played there a few times since moving up and been very impressed.
Where do you play?

007, I am down in the erse end of Cumbria with my work now and then and could bring the sticks for an evening game in the summer. I cover all of cumbria and I have customers in Ulverston so when the lighter night are here I am game.

I have played Pleasington many times, very nice course, would have joined there myself ideally but Shaw Hill did me a deal on the joining fee saving me £500.
Also I had a few friends at Shaw hill as well which made a difference as I was new to the area as well.

You can have a game at our place if you like but its like a bog at the mo but its a bit of fresh air and knock the cobwebs off the swing.

PM me!
