A couple of weeks ago I posted that my son was hit on the head and knocked out, since then has been very reticent about going to play and we have done a few holes late afternoon when it is quiet just to try and get his confidence back. He is desperate to play but today we played when it was a bit busier and he was a nervous wreck, wary of people teeing off on adjoining greens or when on the tee box to the side of greens to such an extent we only played 6 holes before he gave up.

His fear is being hit again and he feels he will play a lot slower as he wants to wait for others to tee off before he plays all of it understandable in a 14 year old.

Any advice what else I can do .. I keep on saying likelihood of being hit again is very slight.

That is such a shame. I would suggest getting the pro to have a chat and explain that what happened is thankfully unusual and that he was very unlucky. He's obviously keen to get into golf. Is there anyone else around his age you could get to join him? Perhaps with others he'll relax and take his mind off it
