Is it your first port of call or can you always find better value elsewhere?
Ours has just expanded and carries Titleist, TM, Callaway and Ping clubs along with a great range of clothing, shoes, bags, rangefinders and the usual accessories.
They'll match the best price you can find on the internet (from reputable sources) and try and obtain any item they don't carry.
The mantra is "Don't buy anything without coming to me first".
All my major purchases have been from my Pro shop and the after sales service is a given.

I was surprised to hear a friend who plays elsewhere say that he'd always shop elsewhere because the Pro doesn't compete on price.

pretty good now, certainly a lot better than it was.

Can maybe find things cheaper online or at AG especially when on offer but overall it is often not worth the hassle or delivery times/prices.

I saw the new Nike Covert 2.0 yesterday for £215 which I thought was a good price but they only custom fit irons and not drivers so will go elsewhere.

Ours is just expensive, said it before and I'll probably say again and again, I'd love to support my local pro but when I can get the same thing for close on half the price online it's a no brainer!

Ours has got a price match or better guarantee. He does sell on line as well though and runs a couple of shops so I suppose he can compete.

ours will do the best he can, normally defaults to matching Snainton who say they are the cheapest, plus of course you get excellent personal service and it supports your pro.

Pro shop is spot on and price matches against the main internet sites. Always get my stuff through him

They do a full range of Ping , Callaway , Tour Edge and TM - also have some Titliest

Full stock of FJ and Ecco shoes

We have a new pro and he is absolutely doing his best to beat the likes of American Golf and others. I bought a set of Callaway Hot x2 irons this week 4 to p/w for £499 - cant think that's too bad

No negotiation at all?
When I bought my irons last year I quoted my online price, he found it on his laptop with me, made a quick call and ten minutes later it was a sale.
He's a member of "Foremost". I don't know if that accounts for anything or whether Titelist, TM etc cover him.

The Pro shop at the driving range I go to, can be 10% cheaper or more over some of the bigger shops, my club doesn't have a Pro shop anymore, though I think it may be coming back. Ironically the Pro we did have at the club left, because he got a job at American Golf.

Our Pro,Reay Mckeay is excellent.
He has been at the club 25 years and at last months AGM was given Life Membership of the club.
He is a member of the Foremost group and has an excellent stock,he will always match any price,if possible.
Also an excellent teacher and is busy most days with both members and locol club members. He teaches the pupil not a method!
Always a pleasure to be in the shop for a chat and even the odd bit of free advice.
Dewsweeper

Every Saturday morning he even puts hot drinks and biscuits out for us competitors.

Ours is Foremost too and its through them that ours says he can do great deals

Our Pro, or rather his wife, will match prices. Prices on Ping and TaylorMade are the lowest I have seen to start with. I got Smiffy a Ping bag a couple of years ago that was lower than else where, before I got a discount.

that his real name, pronounced 'REE-A McKEE-A' I assume?

i try to buy things from my pro, but i'm too polite really to haggle him down so end up buying off the internet. I buy most of my stuff used off ebay, so the prices aren't really comparable.

i don't always find his service that great and i boycotted the 2's sweep in protest. but i will buy club branded gear etc that i can't get elsewhere so he does see plenty of my cash.

bought one club from him but will never use him for clubs again.

I bought a pair of shoes from ours and later saw them at £5 less online.
I jokingly mentioned it next time out and, without pausing, he handed me a sleeve of golf balls.
I really can't praise him enough.
