How can a tilt of the right hand (RH player) fix a slice?

With my 3 wood/driver, I've been slicing it more recently (irons going straight though!).

At the range I can consistently get rid of the slice by moving my right hand from the position where the back of my right hand faces directly away from the target, to moving it round to the right a touch, where the back of my right hand almost points towards my right foot. I have a strong grip with my left hand, showing 3 knuckles I'd say.

I'm starting straight then going right, so I guess my club face is square to target at impact, but I'm swing out to in, so club face open to path?

Any ideas why this little change can fix the slice and am I setting myself up for more issues later on?

Agree with previous, sounds like your right hand grip is getting stronger. Danger of this is if it gets comfortable and then it starts creeping even more round. Then the risk becomes a snap hook.
The grip is so important. I am not an expert but favour a neutral grip. Show 2 knuckles of your left hand, then place the right over it so that the cup in the palm of the right rests on the left thumb. You don't want to see any of your right hand finger nails when you look down.
