Everytime i look at the European Tour website Jin Jeong is at rock bottom of the leaderboard . Regularly shoots in the 80's and from the outside looking in seems incredibly out of his depth. He just can't seem to compete at this level at all. What is the point ?? I know that Nick Dougherty and Oli Wilson really, really struggled too but at times they both showed "green shoots" but for Jin this must seem so demoralising. I guess i am intrigued what his mindset might be ?? Any pros/ex pros on here have any insight ???

If I remember correctly there was a recent thread on the same subject.
I believe he struggled, changed his swing, got injured as a result and hasn't managed to come back to fitness or form since.
Very sad for the former Amateur Champ'

Apologies for the duplication if that's the case. I just feel for the kid and can't understand why he's still plying his trade on the ET when surely the challenge tour would make sense. If nothing else the travelling/accommodation costs must be costing a fortune especially when there's been zero prize money coming in .

Regularly shooting in the 80s, caddying probably would make more sense. Must be soul destroying going through that week in week out, delaying the inevitable (Store assistant)

I know a number of guys who have gone on tour and tried and tried and tried, all they did ultimately was use up years chasing a dream that was quite obviously beyond them.

The opportunity to one day have a putt for a million quid, i imagine would turn me into Gollum looking for a ring..

I started this thread a few weeks ago. His stats are poor to say the least

A better +1 72 second round in the Italian open, leaves him joint 3rd bottom.

He mustve used all that 245k from the ISPS Handa Perth International by now just touring

Is he better than Peter Finch?
Everytime i have seen him post a score it is closer to 80 than 70

Clearly on his current form he isnt going to qualify for the ET again once his medical exemption runs out

I wonder whether he will even try or, as some have mentioned, move on to something else

Reminds me a bit like steven bowdich on the PGA. Everytime i look at the leaderbard hes shooting 3 or 4 worse than almost all the competitors. Looking at his stats, hes dead last in a few of the catagories.

I played with him at first stage of Q school about a month before he won on European Tour, he was a steady player but never expected him to go and win. We both got through that week, be he then didn't need Q school after his win. I would say his mental side must of been affected real bad, hard to come back from a slump like this. He was a lovely guy and its not nice seeing him at the wrong end of leaderboards.

He is obviously not too good for a tour pro but will still be a hell of a player to be there. Most scratch club players would struggle to break 80 on tour courses. So maybe slightly out his depth but that is no shame.

Surely he'll lose his european tour card and either go back to the asian circuit or the challenge tour?
