Talk at my place of getting an iron. The greens are a bit poor patches of disease. Is this the norm? When the summer came last year they were brilliant.

Ours? Pretty much perfect. Averaging about 13 on the stimp just before the weekend, and extremely true. A joy to putt on!

Ours arent great to be honest but hard to expect much more after the winter weve had. The little patches of disease we had seem to have gone, few thatch patches and a little moss on a couple of them. Theyve had a cut today and whilst a bit quicker for it are very very bumpy still, were quite tricky to putt on today and hard to hit with any conviction. Given a better few weeks weather expect them to come on greatly, especially as they start to get a bit better growth and can get onto them to work more often

Not too bad. We had a real disease issue several years ago but the new green keeper making huge inroads. The poor weather will have affected that but I am confident they will improve again as the warmer weather comes. They putted ok yesterday and if you picked a line it went where you aimed it

Our greens at Parkstone are very good and will get even better They have an iron and its improve te greens no end

13!!?? That's amazing, kind of Augusta speeds this early in the year.

Ours are ok, still a bit podgy so can be a bit lumpy after a bit of traffic. Some patches of moss on a couple of greens, I'm sure it's in hand though

Not great tbh. We have two that have been lifted, dug down to remove thatch layer and re-laid. With the bad weather I hope I am wrong but I cannot see them being in play before August. A lot of the others are wet and spongy and they bobble all over the place making putting a lottery. I hate to say it about a place I love but it isn't great at the moment. I really hope it gets better in summer. Like everywhere else though the weather has taken it's toll this year.

getting an iron is one of the best things a course can do! my course back home got one about a year or two ago. I remember the first putt I had on it after they got the iron. I put a flat ten footer about 6 feet past! picks up the speed and improves the roll no end! smooth!

Greens are in great nick. My short game - much less so. I think I insulted the greens with how I treated them

Played Sunday, there had been a medal and then junior stableford and ladies winter league .... They were like porridge, and honestly speaking not fit for competition golf. They need some love and a bit of a rest. When they are at there best they are quick and true but aren't receptive :( making some ridiculously poor shots look good and great shots look bad.

Not too bad for the time of year, had the turf iron on them the other day apparently just to quicken them up and smooth them a bit as the grass ain't really growing yet so they can cut them properly.

They were slick at the weekend, always are when the pro am is in town, not uncommon to hear of people 4/5 putting the 5th, although some of the pin placements are also a factor.

Quick, as always, but still feeling the effects of the rain so a little soft in places.

Really starting to dry out now though and yesterday they were getting very fast again which should delight the boys coming down for the KoK at the end of the month.

Course maintenance starts proper this week to get everything in shape for the end of the month / start of 'real' competitions so should all be in top nick when I get back from the US in a couple of weeks.
