Me: I am really really really feeling like spending some money on myself at Christmas... I actually dreamed about it last night...

Mrs 1975:I was thinking that we should both take £250 out of mums money to spend on clothes!!

Me: I could use shirts

Me: its an iron set...

Mrs: What's wrong with your old set?

Me: well I want to go back to dreaming about you so I need to get the MP54s out of my dreams.

Mrs: Baby!!!!

So.... what did that last “Baby!!!” mean? Did it mean, your so wonderful, of course go and spend our money on your toys. Or did it mean Baby I was born in the morning but it was not THIS MORNING.

nice try though but you're going down the wrong path, either JPX 850 Forged or H5 with C Taper Lites would be my choice, and might very well be if things go well.

Just tell her the truth about your old set. That there's something wrong with the divergent-flanges which is increasing the moment potential and creating adverse swing weights on the down plane. Plus other stuff she shouldn't worry her pretty little head about. Then remind her that the kettle won't make a brew itself.

Your big problem is that you've indirectly asked if this purchase is okay.....if she says no and you go and do it anyway then batten down the hatches. Best course of action is to go and buy them then either hope she doesn't notice or just plead ignorance......

Hehe, the convo is a bit of fun really. Its as much me talking myself into spending money that will make zero difference to my game as anything. Its just an itch that I may or may not scratch. I work hard and most of the money goes in the pot bar subs and a few drinks.... I think I am just getting a bit tight with myself as I head towards my 40s....
