First of all we will need a forum computer wizard as I am not one of these to keep score.

Along the line of the HDID comp.
Basically anyone can play where there score can be approved by the likes of HDID.

Lets say 6 rounds over the winter up to April the 1st from lets say mid December giving time for entrants.

The comp will just be based on Birdies and Eagles with points scored for each say 15 for Birdie and 30 for Eagle.

Your round does not have to be stipulated and only your best 6 will count however you will have to inform the scorer on the forum that you have played.

Everyone chucks in a fiver and a prize can be bought for the winner.

Its only an idea but will add some interest over the coming few months and add extra spice to your round.

If a tie the most Eagles wins if this is the same the most Eagles and Birdies in a single round wins that should find a winner.

Im willing to collect the fivers and obviously its only an idea and thoughts can be added but if it gets into a full blown argument im out as its only a bit of fun.

It has to be on your home or away course to count.

Ive just put my hard hat on:D
The result will have to be on HDID or other score boards.

The only issue I see Tony is that the cat 1 and 2 players are much more likely to get birdies and eagles than all the other categories

We have one comp on HDID between Dec and April

And is it net eagles and Birdies ? Or Gross ?

Hhhmmmm seems to be a bit of a problem with clubs not on HDID, my club isn't either.

I've got an idea, how about we use one of the cornerstone principles of golf.....trust and honesty??

I'm happy to trust people but need to see if it's gross birdies etc or net ? Or a prize for both ?

Just got back in.

Looks like I win then.

It would have been gross.

Chris some courses are easier than others to get Birdies or Eagles the same as the HDID comp its just something we have to put up with and yes your right Better golfers are likely to get more Birdies and Eagles.

Maybe its for the summer months then and of course people don't have to enter as I said it was only an idea.

If clubs are not on HDID are they on other scoreboards? links to results could be posted.

Anyhow any other ideas from anyone.

I don't think honesty and integrity will work to be honest imo it would have to be done right.

Alternative honesty based plan. Virtual winter knockout - no monetary prize just forum bragging rights. Entries in by mid Dec, make up a knockout draw. Players pre-nominate the round they're going to use for the 'match' (sort of like a supplementary card) best stableford score compared to SSS wins the tie and progresses. If anyone cares enough to cheat they are a knob. Brutal enforcement of deadlines to keep the thing moving.

Just an idea to be shot down....

Sounds like a plan to me. I'm in.

Never had an Eagle, only get a birdie here & there on a par 3, I get excited when I get a par, so I'm out :(

Love the idea in principle. Like others though, there'll be a lack of evidence for my rounds.

Non qualifiers get posted to masterscoreboard if they're singles, but we only have 3 or 4 between now and April.

Maybe a trust based thing but just for bragging rights.

I remember a couple of years ago we had a thread running for most holes without a 3 putt.

Or maybe an eclectic, or most birdies, most gir or fairways, maybe split into divisions, or even a load of categories and choose the one you think you have the best chance in?
